well all the info i got was crap on fpsbananna. they told a bunch of extra, confusing, unnecissery bs. i had to waid threw the bs wich took a couple hours. u need vtfedit wich is free and photoshop or other comperable photo editing program. i take the vtf file from ur materials file in ur dod file(programfiles/steam/steamapps/uraccount/dods/dod/materials/models). open vtfeditor, select import and import that file. then select save as and u save as a targa or tga file. u then can open that file in photoshop. u edit then save as a targa again. open that targa in vtfeditor and save as a vtf and put it back in ur dod/... file. then play with ur new skin. the piont of vtfedit is to change a vtf to a targa then back again. u cant open a vtf in photo shop. its just a file format change that u need.

ya the folder isnt there until u put in new skins. the default arent saved in ur steam folder. would be nice though for editing if they were. you can probably get the defaults though. i, myself, like high res skins so those are the ones ill be playing around with. download some skins u like then edit them if u want. u only need edit one of the six vtf.files for the player skins though so choose wisely :). i think the one u want is american_body.vtf or german_body.vtf. not sure what the rest are for. i think some are default skins.
