Well actually I just fixed the entire situation....I just used system restore. And turtle, what you said there was a lot better than the screaming and yelling im used too. But I got it back, but Im not gonna play unless I ask first I guess. I don't want to go through this ordeal again. Ill try to follow your advice turtle. Thanks

As a parent, I must STRONGLY disagree with the suggestions that you change the password! If my kids did that, computer access would be the least of their worries for a LONG time!
Don't beg for access back. That gets you nowhere, as we parents often find it more annoying than anything else. My advice is prove that you are able to handle the privilege of playing games. I.e., do your homework without needing to be asked, keep your room clean (if your parents expect it, I don't worry too much about my kid's room right now, but they are still young), generally just try to make your parent's lives easier, then after a couple weeks of that gently bring up the subject. If they say no, don't fight it, just keep up with the homework, etc, and eventually your parents will soften to the idea.
It sounds like the conflict was over time spent in the game and priorities. If you take care of your parents priorities first (school, chores, family, etc...) they will be more likely to provide time for your priorities (games!).
Good luck! Remember that the ideas of eGO (politeness, maturity, and respect) work WONDERS on parents! If you approach it that way, you'll be much more likely to get what you want!

Also speaking as a parent, I endorse the information listed above 100%. I am looking for responsibility and maturity in my kids (oldest is 10 now, almost ready for eGO =). The more that comes out the better chance I have to "promote" them in the family structure from (e) to (eG) :D (obviously I use different symbols in order to not be sued by THE eGO :p)

Of course I don't know your situation, but the more energy you invest in the things you have to do and your parents need/want you to do, the better chance you have to gain the freedom you want.

This is why I waited until college to play TFC.
My parents were computer illiterate anyway.

i'm not a parent yet but listen to the two parents who gave sound advice here. don't battle with your parents over passwords and installations or you'll end up writing your essays with pen and paper :D

as for playing when you get to college, those were my glory days. but learn the lesson of doing schoolwork first, play later, or you're going to bomb a few semesters... i can remember TFC came out my senior year. it was hard NOT to play that before i did my studying....

at your age discussing things with your parents about things usually helps a lot :)

they gave it back eh? well its obviously more to this story.

I detect more problems to come. Its probably a good idea to take subtle turtle's advice on this one.

wow your heading for trouble, if your parents spent all of that time doing that to your comp, they obviously had their reasons. I am telling you now that if I was that kind of parent and mini mental went behind my back and restored it, he would loose his comp till hell freezes over. You have to listen to turtle, he gave you excellent advice.

You know when I was young and I was upset with my parents, people would say you will understand one day, they are doing it for your own good.. I could never see it .. I always denied it and refused to believe it, but you know what, as I live and breath, its damn well true.

You need to undo what you have done before they realise it and you need to start behaving and acting mature, or your going to be sad for a very long time. If you can prove to your parents that you are a responsible mature teen, you will be surprised at what it brings.

Buga and Turtle have got this right.

Even though I really get frustrated with my parents, they are usually right and have our best interest at heart. It hurts when it happens but you tend to learn the right way to use your privileges...in moderation.

Believe me, I am 19 and I still get in trouble for doing stupid things, like not doing school or taking care of my chores. Respect your parents and obey them and in turn you will receive their respect.

Maturity is obedience, humility, respect, self-discipline and self-control all rolled into one word. Learn it well, because your parents will remind you every time you are not.

Just 2 cents from a teenager.

What you said in post #3 was probably only the last straw. There has got to be more than this. Like you not doing well in school, or pissing them off alot and not doing chores... etc.

I do well in school. I get A's and B's. I do my chores as well. My mom gets really upset about little things too, so even if I made a joke or two, she would go off the deep end.

I dunno what to say about this.

My mom is a teacher, I've lived with her since my near death surgery nearly 3 years ago. She's a teacher.

She and her friends see nothing but bad kids and bad parents.

In this years 3rd grade meeting, 3 parents came. The rest didn't care to meet the teachers, didn't care to see what the school was like, just didn't care, and dropped off their kids.

Normally I'd say obey your parents, but after what I've seen the last 3 years from where mom works, I'd hafta say I'd need to know the whole situation first.

My family has already had to report about 3 cases of child abuse the past 2 years. I truly doubt this is a situation concerning child abuse, so please don't con me, but give both sides of the story. Tell us why your parents feel this way, tell us what you do during the day. Do you goof off alot? Did you recently get in trouble? Say with the law?

I'm going to show them how responsible I am. Even though I have TF2 back, I'm not going to be playing anytime soon. I am very mature as well there are just some times when I drift away from that a little bit. It doesn't happen very often. I understand that you and turtle are trying to help me and I thank you for that.

With what I said above though, you honestly SHOULDN'T have taken tf2 back. And now your saying you'll show them your responsible, which to me implies that you haven't.

I've seen alot of bad parents, but equally bad kids. By law their entitled to teach you how to behave. Ignoring this and doing what you want may cause you to have alot worse of a problem then before.

Not to be fresh or anything, but maybe if they took it away in a way that didn't involve screaming, swearing, and sometimes hitting, I wouldn't have taken it back. I find hard to respect people who do that kind of things to you.
