Has anyone encountered any? How can you tell if someone is indeed cheating?

Earlier today on Badwater it was a giant annoyance to see an enemy sniper run..run..run..go into scope and the very second after he does shoot you in the head.

A little retarded no?

Anyone else have problems with these fun-killers?

Most of the aimbotting I have seen has been people using guns that absolutely do not miss... like a clip from a pistol unloading and not missing. Only seen it happen, a few times, on orange x.

Singe :

Sorry to rain on your parade, but Both Jethro and I spec'd the person that you mentioned in your post, and he was missing more than he hit. It seems that you were the victim of some lucky headshots. That particular player I have played with on multiple occasions, and in fact he is very, very good.

well actually i just encountered someone who was aimboting but i didn't know if he was he aimed for a soldier and shot a pyro and when u walk around the corner and he was aiming around the other corner he gets u with a heashot and im talking about a sniper by the way but he might have been good but he always got u with a headshot

I've seen some where I thought it was aimbotting, but I just tend to tell myself they were either good or lucky. Especially when it does not happen again to me or anyone else from the same character.

Sometimes people just extremely lucky

...I'm requesting someone lock this thread.

I think the thread is about encountering any person who is hacking and our experiences with them, not just the one person he encountered. I think that makes this thread legit. But hey that's just a lowly "e" opinion.

The only time I've encountered a hacker was on our CS Office server. After killing me, I watched him get 5 headshots in a row with his cursor twitching the whole time.

folks..beware there are 2 ways to hack,,one is aimbot,,the other is wallhack (see through walls)

when i hear "he got me as i rounded the corner" i always think wall hack first as he was timing the shot

now long distance "100%" head shots sounds like aimbotting

~D

The only hacking I have ever seen was a Speed hack,I was a scout rushing to the top of this water filled place and there goes a heavy zooming past and got to the top faster than I did.

Search tf2 aimbot in youtube and there are a bunch of hits for videos of people that are obviously hacking.

Also, I just want to remind every one that aimbot CAN be turned on and off with one keystroke, so a player could switch between botting and missing very easily to make some shots seem 'lucky'. The best way to tell is to just get a demo and look for more obvious accounts of ridiculous shots.

Theres no such thing as a lowly "e" opinon :D

i look at being accused of aimbotting as a compliment sometims. lol ive been occasionally accused of aimbotting when im not on an eGO server (only when im sniping) .. seems there are alot of people who arent that great and the quality of eGO players is a better standard. which is why i sometimes go to other servers .. to make myself feel better =P

It's few and far between on tf2 and the usual tell-tale signs are when players are constantly looking at walls (wallhack, but even this has to be spec'ed very closely), or the best way to tell an aimbot is if they are headshotting cloaked spies . Even people that try to hide an aimbot will have their target skip quickly to a spy in tf2.

yes only once though.

i sniper was cheating. he got a head shot on m 4 times when i was in cloak.... he said it was an accident....
lol

Well aimbotting or not, there's a level of how good someone can get before it starts getting a little annoying.

Apparently our good friend Snuffleupagus beat an aimbotter at sniping, a feat I only wish I could do.

some people are pretty good at centering the sniper rifle without being zoomed in. i practice from time to time on 2 fort with this for those off-the-hip shots

I haven't seen any hackers in tf2 but we should keep a close eye out for them. So we can have a fun and fair server.

Back in the day before TF2 around the time of CS before Source, I knew a bunch of people who would put a small piece of tape or a dot of some kind in the center of their screen when sniping etc so they could no scope.
