how come its recording sound from my mic? i want it to record in game sound?

In the Fraps settings, are you using "Detect Best Sound Input" or "Use Windows Input" for your sound record options?

Generally, the "Detect" option is best for capturing in-game sounds, but you might stumble upon the right combo to get both them AND your headset mic by playing with the "Use Windows Input" option, and then adjusting your sound device settings in Windows Control Panel (which will then be used in Fraps). Every system and sound card is a little different, so it's hard to recommend exactly what to try, but this is maybe somewhere to start.

unplug your mic

thats what i do every time i record in fraps and it works fine that way, no recording of any noise from my mic

Yeh, un-plug your mic and if your using Vista, Disable it from Sound Properties. If I'm honest I don't like fraps, it lowered my fps from 300 on CS:S Menu to 2. Now come on.... It might not of been fraps, but it was the only thing I was using.
