Twice today on the instaspawn 2fort server e's accidentally that there were no admins on, Luckily Dogma joined just after he said it, then just now again on the same server, another e said it but this time there were racist comments and swearing over mic. So es NEVER SAY THERES NO ADMINS PRESENT IN THE SERVER!!!! it will almost definetley disrupt the server if someone taks the chance to realise, "hmm we can do whatever we want."

another point is to not get into an argument with these people when there are no admins present. My personal policy has always been to politely ask not to do such, then i contact any online admin.

If there is no online admin present, for the love of god don't try to argue any further. Giving these people any more attention is like giving treats to the dog who just wet the carpet. You and all self-respecting people on the server will just ignore/mute the offending player.

Eventually, you can contact an online admin or let the situation resolve itself.

Agreed. It's probably not a great idea to say there's no admin present since people would be more inclined to insult. I'd love to help administrate it but I haven't gotten into class yet lol. I'll keep 2fort insta-spawn in mind tho once I do
 
i was in the server with you Midget and i dont believe anyone said there were no admin present. they did however say they werent admin.. which doesnt mean there arent any. but due to our admin system if youve been to an eGO server before then youll know if there are any admin on or not. the guy who used the remarks had been before and already knew there werent.

but a good message none the less

It was a pub who said, something like "thats an insta ban" and i forget who but someone said "none of us are admins here" and thats what lead to the situation,
 
Irresponsible and Childish, i find that it is ashame to have e's like that. It makes all of us look bad.
 
good post midget! there, steam friends, vent, and the shout box to get a hold of an admin....heck when i was an =(e)= i even went to another server with an admin on it and told him to go to the server that was in need of admining.

*also =(e)='s never try to admin! you are still in the same boat. it says on the MOTD screen that =(e)='s dont have admin, so they know you cant do anything to them, and they wont listen to you. you need to contact an admin. never try to do it yourself!

and thats what actually happened. what the e said didnt lead to the situation as it had already occured

indeed.. and youll save yourself a headache by not trying to admin lol. but we as e's (when no admin are present) are supposed to ask (politely) the person to desist. personally i always ask whomever to stop one or two times before i get an admin.. depending on the severity i may not get an admin at all. some people just accidentally cuss over voice due to habits and i honestly dont see anything wrong with that as long as they arent being intentionally obscene so i dont get an admin for that, id feel like i were wasting the admins time

If you do not have admin just politely ask them to stop and if they do not, and there are no eG's or eGO's on the server, then just steam message an admin and have them join the server and take care of it. A last resort could also be using the shoutbox on the site to ask for help.

I did, but none were in game at that time, and i didnt want to disrupt someone while working or something. Its different for me as well since im in Europe, not as many admins are on -_- and Ive gto about 14 eGOs and 20 - 30 eGs and non were in game at the time YIKES :O and I when I was admining i was politely just telling people I only ever do it when Its me or just =(e)=s on.
 
Yes, but if it's disrupting a server, I think that's a good excuse to disturb an admin for something that takes less than 5 minutes. eG's and eGO's are there to help players and the servers. You shouldn't be afraid of asking

actually the server had several admin join just shortly after it happened

also id have to agree with midget. as bearing witness to all of it i think (even though what i think doesnt actually matter) he handled what he handled well and the situation worked out just fine. the offensive player recieved a perma ban. play went on well. everyone had fun.< the point of the whole game and eGO's rules right? lol =) i believe this is gonna be my last post in this thread, i feel ive contributed all i know about what happened and my oppinions as well
 
Also get a few eG's on your friend list. If the server you are on has no admin and is getting full Ask for an Admin to come and help!!. It's TF2, of course someone is willing to play. Myself, I always look for servers without admin over servers I would prefer to play.
 
Agreed never say there's no admins present. Furthermore, if you're an admin never say your admin powers are down, if they are.

Could be a good moment to introduce e's to the benefits of irc and vent as well.
