Alright, I'm starting to get sick of people posting there lives in the general forums. Every 3 days i see someone post something about there life story that no one really cares about. Such as "im not going to be on for a while" or "im going to vacation" or something. Im not tiring to be mean or anything but in all honesty i don't really care were your going or i don't really care how long your going to be out. I think we should add a forum called "random" in my option, Not saying that we have to, its just one of my suggestions. I'm REALLY REALLY sorry if I offended anyone. im not a bad guy

I didn't say this by myself, I'm speeking for other people as well. They agreed with me so i made this thread.

Nothing wrong with it, It's a General forum, the description reads: General Community Chatter... some people might not be active and want to list reasons why, or some want to share what's happening... one of the definitions of a forum is: A) A marketplace or public place of an ancient Roman city forming the center of judicial and public business B) a public meeting place for open discussion C) a medium (as a newspaper or online service) of open discussion or expression of ideas...

So this is what a forum is for, especially one labeled as general chatter for the community

It isn't really something to be sick of. Gamers, eGo and non-eGo alike, want to let people know that they won't be around for a while.

I much prefer these type of threads than ones saying "Where is so and so..." as they give the opportunity for people to wish others well.

I was gone for 30 days. 30 days! With banning reports that could be contested and being gone for such a long time it may be necessary for people to complete such a thread.
You do however make a good point, these threads are spread out, take up room and are sometimes in the wrong place. Maybe a dedicated sub-thread could be needed.

although i agree that i don't really read them, and they are pretty pointless (considering the Hundreds+++ of people we have here) i see nothing wrong with it, HOWEVER i think off-topic would be a little more appropriate, as that's where spam usually should go.

people want to feel needed, and accepted. that's why we join a community such as this. and that goes for ALL OF YOU (read: all of us) if that wasn't true you wouldn't be here, and you wouldn't have an e+ in front of your name. And one way people feel needed and accepted is to know they are missed when they are gone. well as i said there are literally HUNDREDS (exact count?) maybe thousands of people here. how can you be missed if you ain't noticed missing?

all I'm saying is this is a community, if someone posts something you don't want to read, don't read it. NOTE ON THIS: use appropriate Subject lines please. that's the only thing i ask. don't post "OMG READ NOW!" instead put "I'm leaving for awhile, here's why...", or "I'm moving, details inside" etc etc. you may think your OMGWTFTISFS subjects are clever, and funny, but i'd rather know what I'm getting into when i open a thread instead. at least then we wouldn't need THIS thread.

So what you are saying is, we shouldn't pay attention to other people in our clan? I mean, I read some of them, and I wish them luck or something to that extent. But seriously, this is a clan, and every clan mate should be treated with respect. How do you think anyone will feel if they make a thread about themselves going on vacation , and it gets locked? Most likely they might not even return to eGO.

The sub forum would be stupid as no one would ever go into it.
