Need COD4 Help Please

AFTER LOADING MY GAME UP AND GETTING INTO A MAP, ABOUT A MINUTE INTO PLAYING AN ERROR APPEARS ON MY SCREEN. IT STATES SOMETHING TO THE JIST OF "PnkBstrB.exe: INITIATION FAILED." I HAVE TRIED ALMOST EVERYTHING INCLUDING:
  • DISABLING FIREWALLS AND SECURITY SOFTWARE
  • DELETING PUNKBUSTER AND RE-INSTALLING IT
  • DELETING THE COD4 AND RE-INSTALLING IT
AND STILL NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK, ODDLY ENOUGH. IF ANYONE KNOWS A SOLUTION OR HAS FIXED THIS PROBLEM ON THERE OWN BEFORE, PLEASE HELP ME. THANK YOU!!!
 
Someone here seemed to come to a simple conclusion, not sure if it'll work for you but it's worth a try.

Edit: When you have CoD4 running, alt tab out and check if the PnkBsterB process is running, too, if it isn't that would stop B from initializing, I think.

Edit again: Are you using Vista? If so is CoD4 being ran as administrator?

Ya Its The Latest Version, It Just Stopped Working One Day. I Will Try All The Above Solutions.
 
I had the same problem with Bf2. It didnt let me join any servers because of some punkbuster problem, so in the end i just left it.
 
My guess would be because you deleted punkbuster it needs to be updated again. Try that (if you haven't) and see what happens
 
Ya Did That A Couple Times And It Didn't Work. But I Went To A Different Site That Showed Me What Was Going On With My Game, And It Said Pnkbstrb Was Not Running. Then I Tried Running It As Admin To See If It Would Allow It And It Didn't.

But When I Tried To Run It Regular Again, It Magically Worked. Really Screwed Up System But What Ya Gonna Do.

I recreated the problem for giggles by stopping the service manually and tried starting it again and found that if you go to your Punkbuster or PB folder and click on the pbsvc file there will be an option Test Services, this test your PB and it will say that PnkbstrB has stopped and will run test and will get it started again. Wait for it to finish, about 20 to 30 seconds and you should be set.
 
Can we please, please stop bumping 2 month old threads? Its been happening alot recently, and its hurting :(
 
This thread belongs in Tech Help, one suggestion you might try is see if punkbuster service has been disable. Run-msconfig

Read futher in the post, it has been solved, One suggestion to aviod running as Administrator is to install the game somewere eles then "Programs Files". You would not need to run in Administrator if you do that.
