BattleField 2 or BF 2142(PC only)

hi im thinking about deciding to buy a new shooting game for my brother. i dont have time to figure out which is better so i need quickfacts if u can.

Which Do you Like and WHY?
which requires more graphics?
quick storyline of each?
vehicles? what kind?
uhh more info better. thanks
solo gameplay?

I think i decided to pick BF2. thanks guys

BF2 is much better. I played if for some time. The 2142 is futuristic, but lacks.

- Huge emphasis on Teamwork- medics, support & snipers etc all working together as a unit.

- BF2142 is more demanding.

- Not much storyline tbh, these games are mostly multiplayer only.
vehicles? what kind?
- Helicopters, Tanks, Jets, Jeeps... many!

solo gameplay?
- You can play the maps solo with bots, but thats not much fun unless you wanna get the hang of using the vehicles and learn the maps.

BF2 is best imo.
 
i personly like bf2 and if you want a good sever for him to play on i recoomend a NSdq or isi( low cussing practilly like ego)(isi is christain tho so )

Actually, that is false, BF2142 is less demanding, my friend can play it with an integrated graphics card on his laptop, laggy, but still playable. BF2, he cannot.





Overall, get BF2 I say, a lot more people play it, its more fun, and has more maps.
 
but updates on the games give more maps fix bugs and stuff


i know from experience that bf has a lot of bugs but i know would have gotten fixed in updated and both games ea released expansion packs for i would go with bf


i have all the battle Field games and i think u should get bf because that what I'm playing right now :)

and with bf u can make multiple profiles on it in account

bf u cant do that

- Huge emphasis on Teamwork- medics, support & snipers etc all working together as a unit.also supports VIOP in game so Vent is not needed but quality is not that great. It also has in game simple point and click orders. Ex. Attack here.Defend here, and most important of all MEDIC! lol

- BF2142 is more demanding. BF2 ran better on my system but it all depends on your rig and settings for the game really. They seem to have imporved the particle effects and lighting in the engine from BF2 over to BF2142

- BF2 takes place in modern times with the US against made up factions MEC(Middle East Coalition) and the Chinese PLA(Peoples Liberation Army) and the setting for BF2142 takes place in the future when the earth has mostly frozen over and factions are battling for the last remaining habitible land.

Awards and stats- Both games have a stats and awards system integrated into the game. BF2 awards just give new weapons where as the award system in BF2142 gives you weapons and various different add ons suchs as shields,flying bots,etc


I have both games and enjoy BF2 alot more than BF2142. The reason is that is what started the series for me. I enjoy modern combat games because it is based on actual weapons systems and information. Futuristic is great but not real so I can't really say that is how its going to be 100 years from now. Both games have teamwork but the maps are far better on BF2 because they had more to work with as far as enviornments. BF2142 took place when most of the world froze over so you get alot of snow maps. Think of Battle of Hoth. it gets boring quick without change. Getting either games is great for mods too. Which reinvents the game for you. Some I would recommend for BF2 would be Tactical Mod from www.tacticalgamers.com(I don't know if they still run the servers for it)Reality mod,Point of Exsistence, and many more. BF2 seem to run better than BF2142 on my system.

Get Battlefield 2. 2142 sucks, the RPG in it takes about 30 seconds to reload, you can kill the walker in 5 hits with one, when the walker can kill you in 1 second. BF2 however, its much eaiser to avoid tanks and APCs, and eaiser to destroy them.
 
When I play 2142 im all like "Wow, deja vu". So I would go for BF2.

If you are talking about bf2142, the multiple accounts do nothing, stats dont carry over
 
Forgotten Hope 2 is a good choice for the WW2 fans. It`s a BF2 mod btw.
 
all this chat makes me want to install BF2 again.
Personally I have both. I enjoy running around shooting people more in BF2142. I like the easier to destroy vehicles in BF2. So I have both and play em depending on if I feel like trying to run around or just messin around in a jeep.
 
idk with the c4ing your car up and chargeing at people and blowing it was just to awsome
 
If there is enough people, Ill talk to Council about letting me run a little BF2 roadtrip..... :)






Also, Bf2 has the option for no vehicles, makes it sooo much more fun :) No more tank "spamming" ( cant say the w word here ;P) on Karkand!

I ENVY YOU I had to reinstall, but I couldnt get my old acount back and my SF disks dont work anymore :(

EDIT: I still dont have my old account, but MY DISKS WORKED THIS TIME :D
