Battle of Donner

In 1942 I took a little trip
To the town of Donner with a thompson on my hip.
I took a little frag and I took a smoke grenade
And I faught the bloody Axis with The Raiders own brigade.

We fired our guns and the Jerries kept a'comin.
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.
We fired once more and they began to runnin'
Through the town of Donner to the Bay of Palermo.

We looked past Tank and we see'd the Jerries come.
And there must have been a hundred of'em shouldering a gun.
They stepped so high and they made the servers ring.
We stood by our sand bags and didn't say a thing.

We fired our guns and the Jerries kept a'comin.
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.
We fired once more and they began to runnin'
Through the town of Donner to the Bay of Palermo.

DirtyDeets said we could take 'em by surprise
If we didn't fire our rifles 'til we looked 'em in the eye
We held our fire 'til we see'd their faces well.
Then we opened up on full auto and really gave 'em ... well

Yeah, they ran through tank alley and they ran through connector.
They ran through places where a hacker couldn't go.
They ran so fast that The Raiders couldn't catch 'em,
Through the town of Donner to the Bay of Palermo.

We fired our rockets 'til the barrel melted down.
So we grabbed a spammer and we fought another round.
We took a rocket round, and loaded his behind
And when we touched the rocket off, the spammer lost his mind.

Yeah, they ran through tank alley and they ran through connector.
They ran through places where a hacker couldn't go.
They ran so fast that The Raiders couldn't catch 'em,
Through the town of Donner to the Bay of Palermo.

I see that a cover of a hit by a girl group who were the same age as your grandmothers (my lieblings back) was not the way to go. Well has been the lesson learned that; if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything. I laud you for your silence. Still I am not quite ready to abandon the past. Hence this quasi bluegrass from 59.

Awesome job on the song, Quaffer! I had a record (you know, those black vinyl things) of goofy songs when I was a kid and it had the Battle of New Orleans on it. It was one of my favorites. Again, great job.

I enjoyed this one as well as the first. I think you have a real talent here. I am looking forward to more of these :)
