Well...not sure where you are in the programming process? So I'll just give a general rundown and hope this helps...
Only after you install the keyboard software will you be able to program your macro keys.
As an example, to make a program for TF2 to say "Thanks!" you would do the following:
Program as many keys as you like. When you are done, make sure to save your setup using the File >Save As from the menu at the top. Choose a name for your setup.
Before your keyboard will be programed with the setup you just saved, you MUST go to the keyboard icon in your toolbar, right-click and select the name of the profile you just created. (You can create an unlimited number of keyboard profiles.)
Now when you are in TF2, instead of needing to press the X then the 2 to say "Thanks!" now you can just press your Macro key.

In the software setup screen, click inside the box with the Macro Number you want to program. (there are 12 total)
Click inside of button 1 (this begins the macro record session)
Press the X key then the number 2 key. (as you press the keys, you will see them recorded in the box.)
Using your mouse, click the green arrow in the box to save your macro.
You will be given the option to name each macro key as you program them.
