Hey folks,

I'm a guy who rarely wears tags (first clan I've ever been in) because I like a clean-looking name. I'd like to have a hotkey to turn the tags on and off depending on the server I'm in. Google isn't helping, and neither is searching the forums. Can someone help me out, please?

Cheers,
Kes

I don't really think that is possible, not easily at least. Maybe I'm wrong though.

I've been lead to believe that it's a few lines in the .conf file, but I'm not sure.

Here you go:

bind K "setinfo name YourName1"
bind L "setinfo name YourName2"

Just type it in the console and you will have 2 new shortcuts:

K for your name 1 - name with tag
L for your name 2 - name without tag

Wow thanks! This is so much help for me! So when my brothers are playing on instead of me i can easily change the name!

Guys, this wont work for me. I tried to use this command many times, with many variations but when i press the letter it wont change my name. Any help?

It seems that if you want to change your name and it contains special characters it won't work. For example, I tried:

=(e)=? spidEY to spidEY --> Works
spidEY to =(e)=? spidEY --> Won't work

Hm...

All i want to change is

F6 - Changes to =(eG)=™Darth
F7 - Changes to =(eG)=™[Guest]Darth

If anyone could make some bind that would work for that id be very grateful! Thank you very much.

One thing I have found is that the console does not accept TM signs. Binding is basically telling the computer "When I press this key, type this in console and press enter." You can use the setinfo bind for anything that does not use the TM. Which *should* be a problem for people.

setinfo does not properly parse special characters in the console.

If there is a work-around, I don't know it.
