The engineer update is one that should be the most complex of all the updates. Why you ask? Well think about it. The engineer has 4 weapons; a pistol, shotgun, wrench, and a build panel. The build panel also has 4 sections; a sentry, a dispenser, an entrance teleport, and an exit teleport. Now, I am not saying Valve is going to update every part one by one, but it will change the whole perspective of the class. Noiseless and I have thought for a while about what these news weapons and achievements could be. What we have come up with will surely get your attention and hopefully your approval.
Electronic SpiderThis will replace the pistol
The Electronic Spider.
First on our list is the Electronic Spider. The engineer is rather proud of this new handy gadget. Its objective is to slow down your enemy. The spider will latch onto enemies that get within a 25 meter radius of the spiders origin. This baby is fast, but weak. With 1 shot it can be destroyed. Luckily you have backup available. You are able to spawn 25 of these spiders at one time. Every spider that latches onto an enemy will slow that person down by 2% per spider (for a total of losing half of your speed). They only stick to you for 5 seconds, but that is more than enough time to kill that person. If the spiders latch onto you then you can use a rocket or a bomb then the spiders will be killed. A teammate can not shoot them off of you, you are on your own there. If you can get on high ground then that would be a good idea to get around the spiders. They are unable to jump but they are able to fall down. The catch is that these take up 8 metal per spider (equals the total 25 spiders). You can think of these as a sticky bomb for the demolition. Wherever you spawn a spider is where it will stay. There is no throwing them, you set them down beneath you. So every time you wish to spawn a new spider after the 25 limit then the first one spawned will explode and the new one will be summoned.
This will be a handy tool to use for defending or just slowing down your enemies. If you have a sentry behind a wall and you set spiders around the corner then it would really make it easy to kill that person with your sentry after slowing them down. Also if an enemy has your intel then these spiders can be used to buy yourself time and kill that person. Remember, the spiders are a lot faster than you, so there is no use in outrunning them. If you can get on high ground then do that to dodge the spiders, otherwise you need to turn around and shoot them.
So to sum this weapon up:
Fast release.
Slows down enemies 2% per spider.
25 meter radius.
Does not have a destruction timer.
Able to fall down ledges.
Weak.
Runs in a straight line towards an enemy.
Requires eight metal to spawn one of them.
Can not jump.
Do not move until an enemy is within 25 meter radius.
Steam-Pressured ShotgunThis will replace the shotgun
The Steam-Pressured Shotgun
Ever wondered how a steam driven shotgun would work? Well think of it as a more powerful blast of death. A shot to the face with this weapon will surely kill you, and if it doesn't then it will no doubt blind you or make it harder to see. This sucker has so much steam built up behind a shotgun shell that it adds a burst force. The down side is that it will not hit the target from long range. Luckily the engineer has planned ahead and saw this coming. If you shoot near someone then their vision will be hazy. It does not have to hit the target to have an effect. Sadly, your shotgun can over-heat. With that amount of steam, it is bound to get a little hot; may even burn you
. Also be weary that the clip size has been reduced. It is 1 shot before you have to reload the gun. It does not take very long to reload, but chose your shots wisely.
So you can use this as a strategic weapon to run away from an enemy, or to make a lot of haze and make it difficult for an enemy to see a near by sentry. Also with the addition of the electronic spiders you can combine the too and really cause hell for someone.
To sum this weapon up:
High powered upclose
Can generate fog.
Fast reload.
Short range shots.
Over heats if over used. Can cause damage.
Small clip sizes. (1 shot before reload)
Build/Battle Wrenches This will replace the wrench
The Build and Battle Wrenches.
This is a little more complex and strategic. Firstly, this will be 2 weapons to replace the existing wrench. One of the weapons are the build wrench.
Build Wrench:
This wrench is for someone who needs to put up a quick devise. This is very helpful when someone is invading your base and you need to up something up and quickly (requires 50% less metal to build). There are some downsides to this though. These devices are weaker than your average piece of machinery (25% weaker to be exact). It has less health, but these have a higher rate of critical hits (if it is a sentry obviously). The rate of fire is also risen, but has less damage done to you. Also these can not throw someone backwards. The sentries can also turn around at an accelerated rate. Next, let's talk about the battle wrench.
Battle Wrench:
This wrench is mainly used to build a heavy defense. All of your devices will receive a (25% health bonus). They also take a lot longer to construct (50% more metal required to build). These beauties can surely hold their ground. They do not produce any critical hits, but deal heavy damage and an increased fire rate. The sentries move slower regarding turning to fire, but can pack a punch if they are in your view. The sentries can also push you backwards when being fired at. Now for the overview.
Wrench Overview:
These wrenches are practically mirror opposite of each other. They all have their respective advantages and disadvantages so it will be difficult to chose which you want to build with. In the heat of battle you may want to construct with your build wrench, but when things have cooled down then you might have time to build with your battle wrench. Also please note that you can not build using both wrenches. If you have a device that was built with your build wrench then you can not switch to your battle wrench. If you do switch then whatever was constructed with your other wrench will be destroyed.
To sum up these weapons:
Build Wrench-
Requires 50% less metal to construct.
High rate of critical hits.
The rate of fire has risen.
Can turn around and spot an enemy faster.
25% weaker.
Less damage per shot.
Can not throw an enemy backwards.
Can not also build with the battle wrench/normal wrench. Pick one or result in having your devices blow up.
Battle Wrench-
25% health bonus.
Deals heavy damage.
Faster rate of fire.
Can push back enemies.
50% more metal is required to construct.
No critical hits.
Turns around slowly.
Can not also build with the build wrench/normal wrench. Pick one or result in having your devices blow up.
Bob the Build PanelThis will replace the build panel
Bob the Build Panel.
Lastly, we present to you Bob the Build Panel. This new and inventive devise is used to construct from a distance. Yes, I said from a distance. Basically if you are not able to reach an area, then you can use this handy thing to reach it for you. Think of it as a cloaked spider. This is not as well cloaked as a spy, so you are able to see a distinguishable blur from a distance. What is nice about this is the speed it can run while cloaked and has the ability to climb walls. If there is no ledge to climb up then it will not be able to do as you ask it to. When you have this weapon selected you have an arrow that points away from you in an 45 degree angle to show where this devise will end up moving. When it starts constructing it will not be cloaked and will take 10 seconds longer to build than if you were not using this tool. Also if an enemy spots this tool running about then it only takes a few shots to be destroyed, so try to hide it. This tool also has a 25 meter leash. You can not construct something farther than 25 meters away from you.
This device can be very useful. Let's say there is a hallway full of enemies and you are around the corner. You can not go to the opposite side to create a sentry, so you use this tool to cross the gap at a fast speed, but somewhat noticeable. If someone does not notice it then you will have a sentry built where the enemy might not look and can really catch them off guard.
To sum this weapon up:
There is a cloak when running.
Can climb walls.
Runs fast.
Able to build within a 25 meter radius.
Takes 10 seconds extra to build something.
Weak if hit.

ConclusionNow I am bored of you guys.
This was very fun to think of and to see how these would work out. This went over real well and I hope this was a very enjoyable read to you guys. Maybe Valve can even use some of our suggestions. Who knows, but all that matters is that you guys liked it. At least you better of liked it.
Please note that all artwork was done by Noiseless and nothing that was stated is official. This is purely off of our imagination and creativity.
