My Rig, going to upgrade

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core
3 GB DDR3 (1 2GB and 1 1GB)
Vista Home Premium
NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS 512MB PCI Express
250 GB HD
Integrated Audio
DeathAdder Mouse
Standard Keyboard

Thoughts on what and how I should upgrade? Was thinking about going all out on a couple of these babies and running them in SLI and upgrading my monitor. Thoughts?

Looking to spend around 400 bucks max.

Hmmm maybe get a 8800 or 9800 GT, or another gig of ram and Vista 64 Bit your choice

Nab a pair of 2x2GB RAM DIMMs. You're not running dual channel with a 2GB and 1GB stick...wait...DDR3?! Why?!

Then upgrade your video card.

That leaves you with $135 dollars...any chance of extending the budget by another $100 or so? That way, you can buy a nice 22inch widescreen to go with the 4850.

Now if you want some good graphics, I personally recommend a ATI card, particularly the 4800 series. I have a 4850 and it destroys anything I can throw at it. That's just one card. Imagine two in CrossFire...

Also, you're probably not going to have enough money to get a video card (let alone two) and upgrade your monitor at the same time. It just depends on what you buy. For $400 you could get a Radeon 4850 and a Acer 22" widescreen monitor. After shipping you'll be getting close to your budget.
