Google Chrome Dominating

Firefox is a major name browser. It will never "die". Some people may go all giggidy over Google, but others will stick with Firefox.

I personally will stick with FF, because Googles Contract and Terms blow utter chunks, even if they said they changed it. I don't trust them, so I'll stick with Firefox.

Sort of like how Spore has a 3 use DRM and the fact it installs a virus onto your computer without you knowing. No thanks.

Edit: Of course, you have to remember two things here as well. One, most of the people that they have listed as "users" are people who only download it to test it out. And two, most of the users who stay are people who use IE. So I'm not too worried.

True, I know for a fact 25% of all web users still use IE 6 rofl. IE won't go down but Chrome will still get big, no matter what, it is Google.

Edit: This isnt to start flame wars against which browser is better or anything, I just wanted to share this interesting info!

Another interesting thing I found just now:

http://blog.statcounter.com/2008/09/chrome-grabs-1-in-one-day/

firefox will be the big looser, why? the answer is simple: Mozilla Corporation gets loads of sponsorship money from google.

If Google drops the sponsorship thann Mozilla will suffer a huge loss of funding

whenever one of my browsers is not working at school i try others. I have opera, firefox, i.e., safari, and now chrome. I usually use firefox because it is fastest and most reliable. even faster still than chrome from my experience.

Chrome runs sloppy right now, honestly not impressed after using it for a few hours.

Im staying with FF cus i customized it with skins and such and its perfect. i couldnt ask for more in a browser. i really dont need/want all those extra stupid features in chrome, such as that stuff that comes up with u open a new tab >.>

I do believe we've found the next Vista vs XP... or Apple vs PC.... or Zune vs iPod...

Besides, you're only as safe as you are intelligent. Honestly, if you can't stay away from websites that you shouldn't be going to in the first place, should you really be using a computer? It's not really hard to NOT get viruses, spyware, malware, trojans, keyloggers, etc.

Either way, people like what browser they like for whatever reason.

I like chrome because its simple, it's plain, and it doesn't have a billion addons that do the same exact thing anyone with a brain can do if they weren't so lazy.

Just like some people like Apple/Macs because they don't have to worry about hardware not being compatible... or tech support not knowing what the hell is going on.. The same for PC, some people don't like spending extra money on hardware just so they can be SURE it works perfectly. They like tinkering with their hardware, having a large library of games and software to mess with at their whim.

Honestly, whether or not any browsers do better than eachother.... People will moan and groan and point out flaws in other peoples logic, whether or not it's actually there.

>:O Plain and simple, just don't bring it up because it's one of those things that will be debated endlessly. !bang

I don't know yet if I'll go to chrome. I don't have any particular loyalty to Firefox, if chrome is better and has the features I want, I'll use it. It's why I use Firefox now.
Chrome will need opera-like gestures (I use Firegestures for firefox) before I use it. I can't use a browser that I can't right-click drag for forward/back/etc... I just get frustrated.

No plan on even trying it. FF isn't broken and it's better than IE.

If and only if FF dies because the big G decides not to fun it anymore I will actually go back to IE. That's scummy of a big company to do and I do not support that type of actions.

What are you even talking about?

Do not support what type of actions? A big company shelling out millions of dollars to an open source project for little or nothing in return? They had no reason to fund it in the first place, and they would have no reason NOT to stop paying for it.

True dat. They said so themselves the main reason they built Chrome is to evolve the web browsers and any browser can take from chrome because its open source. So they're trying to help everyone out I guess.

Read the terms?

And sorry for quoting Garden and Wal-Mart here.

Um Crome has major issues right from the start between the security issues, the memory usage and the EULA which they fixed but still...

I think once chrome gets off its beta stages, I would be willing to let go of firefox. We already use it at work and its really quick on our crappy, firewalled internet.

Why does Google come up with all this new stuff? Actually its the employee idea to do this. Google expects its workers to "goof off" at work 1 hour a day per day. This allows their minds to explore what they like and come up with new ideas. Its how they started their mail service! Also look how far they have gotten since they started. They began in 1997 and the 2 guys who started it are now in the top 10 most rich people in the world list with about $25 Billion dollars each. They have money to throw at new ideas!

Anyways, I think chrome will kill off Optera, but not FF, Safari, or IE

I really like Chrome, but mainly because its just another option like Firefox. In my opinion. I would rather use Firefox mainly because of the addons and the ability to customize as much as you would like. I do understand that Chrome is also in beta and I see a bright future for Google. At the same time. It is just another internet browser. :)

The only reason I'm still with Firefox is AdBlock Plus.
I'm just waiting for Chrome to work out the Kinks

Once Mozilla worked out the kinks it turned into a great browser (Firefox).

I'll give it time too.

We're all going to have another Firefox. I'm all for that.

Tried chrome when it first came out. Was really impressed for the first day or two. But it seems like it really wants to hog all my memory, bogs down the PC way too much for my liking. But other than that I liked it. I say give it a little bit and it could be one good browser.
