HLstatsX Removal.

I believe all DOD servers should be rid of this ranking system.
why? because when i was playing i would get so aggressive over stats and ranks i was not having fun i was starting to yell at other players for taking 20 or so points. Edge gamers is not about competition and who is the better player.
so i would like to see in the future HLstatsX taken out from all edge gamers servers.

There is a certain onus on the player as well to act mature and respectable. This situation is not so much the fault of HLStatsX, as it is you losing your control over something and getting angry about it.

Every game that eGO plays and admins is by nature a competitive game. HLStatsX is a helpful tool. Yes, some people may get aggressive over it but that is the nature of the game. It's the mature players of eGO that make the clan what it is, not the name of the clan itself.

Take a break, calm down then come back and enjoy yourself again.

Im happy that there is the HLStatsX. Helps me see how much im sucking and how much i need to improve. Just today i was aware that i had 200 less kills over deaths, by the end of the day i made up in equal amount of kills and deaths. I <3 HLX

The stats are there. You are not forced to look at them. I think you are ready to focus on team play. Encourage players to work together to take flags. Help confused newbies with suggestions. Enjoy the game for the game. If your still upset take a break and read a book. If you take it personally your not going to have fun. Isn't that why you play? To have fun? I know that's why I play. Well said. I enjoy looking at how much I use the weapons and how long I have played. If you have played with me on the servers you should know by now I don't care about my KD or what my kill score is. Its nice to know though. But I am normally the one that charges past everyone guns blazing. If I die who cares, there might be a few seconds where I sit and take a drink of my coke, but some times it works out for the best and I take the other team off guard and kill them all.

I say keep the Stats. If anyone yells at you for not playing well enough, or that your score isn't good enough. Tell them to repect all players. If they continue get an eG or eGO to come into the sever if there isn't one there. There is always someone around.

I will have to play with you sometimes. I love charging forward. I can keep about 2:1 kill ratio (sometimes less depending on who your playing with) just charging forward.

I love the stats, its just nice to know what my strong points are. Like until I got here I used to like playing with the MG and riflemen classes. I began using the assault class and found that I did REALLY well with the assualt class. Then after than I found that my play improved when I was in smaller areas on the map with these weapons.

well, i give the first guy right and the others guys to, Hlxstats sucks, it does, the points are like way to weird, my kpd sometimes is 4 in a server, but my rank goed down with 400? thats because of those unranked guys, i think they just need to make 5 points for every kill, doesnt matter wich rank he has or something, or 3 or so, like when ya kill 3 guys, that all give ya 3 points, u gain 9, then a noob kills u in reload, and u lose 20, that sucks, but the advantage is, yes, look at what spots u need to improve.

I honestly understand what you are saying. For the longest time I was obsessed with my HLX stats in TF2. I would only play medic, because I was good at it, and my HLX went through the roof (I was in the 400-500 range overall). Then I started to notice that I wasn't enjoying my self, and the game became a chore. If I was killed by a lower ranked player and lost 25 points, I would get upset.
When I realized that this was making me miserable, I did a couple things. First was to remove the HLX page from my bookmarks, and force myself to stop going there. Second was to take a break from the game, if only for a week, and play other games. Third was to force myself to play other classes which which I had less skill. I played scout a lot, because while my stats would drop by the hundreds, I always had fun.
I lost close to 7000 HLX points, and over 1000 player rank spots, but I was starting to enjoy the game more! Since I have all but ceased to care about HLX, and I don't even glance at the numbers.
The point is to not let HLX ruin your gaming experience. eGO won't remove it, because it draws in players who do like it, so the burden is on you to ignore it if it ruins your game!

The ranks will not be coming down; though if I had my way everytime someone typed 'rank' it would cost them 25 points.

I believe there is a way to turn of the messages you get in server about it though.

You must be mature enough to understand the stats and have fun with them. I personnally don't care about them as I simply to play to have fun, but alot of people like them so they should stay!

i love the HLstats, it keeps me motivated to get to that number one spot, and if i die well i might get a bit grumpy about it but in the end its just a game... shoot if we had HLstats in real life, now that might be a bit of an issue

Although I'm not the biggest fan of the system, I think it has made me a better player and made me develop patience as well.

I'm probably the biggest camper with the sniper (if you've played with me, you know it) and I have been steadily going up with points and it's fun to see at times. There are also nights where I just suck so much but after all it's just numbers.

Now...... if they were handing out cookies for each 1000 points........

I'm happy with the front page. Number one spot is more like a turn of the century resolution (That's not coming for a while...)

I like the stats, I do admit when I recently started rocking with the MG I was all about trying to get to #1 in the MG stats, but overall it's just about having fun. If you're not having fun what's the point?
