Well, I decided to get TF2 last night and played it this morning. Anyone want to tell me where you all play? I get my butt kicked, but i'm having fun.

2Fort, Dustbow/Warpath, GoldRush and Badwater are usually quite full. Arena/Chaos/BlackMesa, not as full. Still good fun though.

If you want to get some good BASIC class practice in, 2FORT is pretty good because rarely does one side dominate the other, so on most servers it plays out s more like team deathmatch than CTF It'll give you a good chance to use any class in practically any way you like without dying off too quickly like you might in one of the other server types.

Dustbowl, goldrush, & badwater are the way to go in my opinion. If you want to see how the classes can all be played on a single map I suggest badwater. Its one of the few maps that doesn't promote demo and soldier spam all day. Whatever you like though, you'll find a good crowd to play with on any of the servers

Play in 2Fort for a while, it's a good map to try out the different character classes.

I play from 1:23am to - 1:27am and 6:01 to 6:03 lol

I usually play on 2fort and dont worry about getting beat up, you'll get better as time goes on.

I play mostly on the eGO servers. You can mostly find me in 2 fort instant spawn or turbine. I play a lot of badwater too.

2fort dustbowl and turbine. 2fort is great fun to just play around. I rarerly go for intel. I go on do my own thing and get kills

This game is awesome! I think I like it more than COD4 mainly because of the cartoony element. Its funny to watch chunks of body parts fly everywhere with my rockets!

Glad to hear that you're enjoying the game. TF2 has got to be one of the most entertaining online FPS that I've played in a looong time. I'll have to admit, seeing as I started my multiplayer FPS with TFC, I had my doubts about the cartoony look and all of the changes from TFC, but those reservations were unfounded.

In any respect, I'll second or third or whatever everybody's opinion that 2Fort is a good map to start out with. It's a classic CTF map and a TF2 staple. It's very balanced for all classes and a good map to hone your skills. But if you really want some competition, I think some of the best competition can be had on Dustbowl. It attracts a lot of regulars, and is where many of the top 50 (as ranked by our HLSX stats) play on a regular basis.
