Nikon D90 DSLR

Now i want Canon to come out with something similar so I can trade up my XSi. Imo video would be a really great feature.

Video in a DSLR Camera ?!bang

You know, I was like you when I first got it but the LIVE VIEW mode also saves me time to set White Balance correctly.

I have not used the video feature because my Sony Vegas software cannot edit M-JPEG mode...which sucks but I am expecting a codec anytime soon.

BTW, the quality of the video is incredible.

Why don't you shoot raw and forget about white balance? Auto balance does a good job for me.

Auto balance does not work well when you have mixed light sources like incandescent and fluorescent. You will also notice that RAW take almost three times as much disk space as a compressed JPEG.

For WB I am getting an ExpoDisc.

Shoot RAW

Better quality pictures, and memory is cheap. When you shoot Jpg, you automatically lose 6 bits of the 14 available (i think, may be different for nikon) not to mention that you can do all your White Balancing in post.

However, if the expodisk is the same thing I am thinking of, then yea, that would work well too.

Either way, I always shoot RAW for better quality and more flexibility in post processing.

Hey Lu... umm, if you have the money you could always get the 5d MkII... it has video (and I hear its AMAZING) too bad that camera is 2700 for the body.

Speaking of which, I dont suppose any of you are close to Washington DC? I wouldnt mind getting out and going on a photoshoot...

so, how much did it run you?
right now I really wants a d200, but I'm way to poor for it, so i have to settle for the d40 :(

The camera body and lens kit is $1300 everywhere but I bought a package with printer and other stuff that you get free after rebates plus the store warranty for accidental damage...

...about $1800

This Friday I am getting a 50mm/f1.8 lens and an expodisc.
