PLEASE

its REALLY hurting the game play IMO its basically just turning out that everyone has to stick on there side and shoot across hoping to hit someone.

eGO does not set player limits. We do not force people to play in any certain manner or class. This is one of the most basic eGO principles... so you will just have to learn how to kill the snipers (double sticky jump works) or play another map (Blackmesa kicks much butt!).

While I agree that 2Fort can sometimes turn in to a snipe fest, there are still ways around them. Limiting the number of players per class I think is unnecessary. Want to beat the snipers? Go through the sewers and get their intel and win. Or try out a spy and go backstab crazy with their focus on the opposing battlements. Give it some time and you'll start to see the amount of snipers that are currently playing drop to 1 or 2.

Theres more than one way to outfox a class. Use it as a chance to be creative!

I usually start games as a sniper to get a read of the game tempo so I can know which class will best support my team.. Almost always to I figure out that I quickly need to go demo to clear the bunch out.. One or two demo's can create about 2 hours of sniper free play :)

I think if there are alot of snipers, the best thing to do is get a few medics and have them uber demos so you can kick butt! Using spies in co-ordination with hwguy and demos works really well

Same discussion came up before, we dont limit classes. What if someone comes on and wants to practice sniping? Hmm? Should they be forced to wait until a slot opens on that particular class?

i find that some soldier rocket spam, or some demo 'nade spam takes care of snipers long enough for you to flank, or get a stickey jump up there to take them out...i do know what you mean tho...i was on the IR server earlier today...and it was getting a little out of control...

If a team has like 5 snipers on 2fort, you can bet at least 3 of them stink. I don't see any harm in letting them practice. I think that the freedom to play your class of choice is one of the many things that makes our servers more fun than others.

The fact that there is a limit on the amount of people who can play sniper in dod:s is one of the primary reasons I hardly ever play it. It's incredibly annoying when you want to play a class and you can't because it's limit is full and then you have to wait until someone finally quits to get a chance to select the class.

eGo doesnt have class restrictions, but personally, i hate sniping when im not the one doing it.

I agree with Rellik. The last time I played on 2Fort IR there were a bunch of snipers on the other battlements. I'd read a recent forum post on the same subject and someone had mentioned going soldier and clearing out the opposite battlements by spamming with rockets. I figured I'd try it. It took between 5 and 10 minutes but with me as soldier and a couple others as snipers we cleared the enemy snipers from the battlements.

Plus, I had the added benefit of witnessing a really cool shot. I shot a rocket towards the left side of their battlements. I wasn't aiming at anyone in particular, it was merely suppressing fire. There was an enemy scout who, for whatever reason decided to run from right to left all the way across their battlements. My rocket, aimed at nobody in particular, managed to nail him perfectly. He exploded and I laughed my butt off.

You gotta love those random volleys where it kills someone so perfectly you couldn't do it again if you tried.

*explosion of body parts* ".....works for me!"

except when you're a soldier (or some other healthy character) and just barely step out and get a shiny-rocket (read: crit) to the face and BOOM dead and you're like OMGWTFBBQ?!?!?!?
