So between these two GPUs...

Basically, my 8800GT burned out on me after less than a year. don't know why, but that's not the point of this thread.

i'm not sure if i should simply replace my empty slot for antoher 8800GT or go ahead with something like this pre-overclocked 9800GT. It's approx the same price point as top brand 8800GTs, but i can't find a third party website that accurately benchmarks the two.

what do you guys think? stick with the old or go with the new?

Definitely go for the Asus 9800GT. It's got the full 128SPs, which is quite unique as most 9800GTs come with only 112 enabled.

The 9800GT is the exact same card as the 8800GT. Don't waste your money. Nab a cheap 8800GT to replace your dead one and be done with it.

Did you click the link Have? Its a custom 9800GT with 128SPs...dual slot cooling so the heat gets dumped out off the case...and is clocked higher than most 8800GTs/9800GTs.
