Pyro Sapper Cook-Off Ability?

A fellow clan member told me that pyros could cook off spy's sappers from friendly sentries. Can anyone confirm if this works/would want to test this with me tomarrow?

You can't do it, although if you burn a sentry that has an attached sapper, you'll hear a sizzling noise, which might make you believe you are burning it. However, I've stood and burned a sapper for the entire time it was attached, and it still destroyed the building.
