After reading the how hard do you game thread I saw all these people talking about their WASD keys... Am I to understand everyone uses a fairly default set up?
When I was in college back when I got my crazy (live in his mothers basement) gamer cousin to get off his fat rear end (really hes skinny) and go to Full Sail in Orlando, he doubled in 3d ani and video design and devo. He got a spectacular job right out of school @ N-Space who produced much of the content for CoD and a lot of other FPS.
Going to the conventions and seeing the pros play he noticed they do not use WASD but rather ASDF (Strafe left/right altfire fire) and Mouse 1 forward/2 back.
It allows your hand to move much more freely not being bunch up and is also ergonomically healthier. It also puts many more buttons at your left hands disposal
So I started using it and it makes one hell of a difference and I would never go back. Dont get me wrong it is very weird at first, I had been WASD for over 10 years. But some should give it a shot!
Any takers?
Let me know what you think!
