Hey guys iunno wats wrong but when i go on steam it works for the main screen page but when i go into servers it does Hl2.exe has stopped working. and i dont know wat to do i have like tried everything so please help me !bang

First off what game is this so it can make things easier.
Second are all of your drivers up to date.
Make sure you didn't mess around with the HL2.exe
And maybe try re-installing the game see if it clears and issues.

its TF2, he said he messed around with the cache to me on msn, he already re-installed the game and everything, i couldnt find anything for him, so i told him to put a thread up, he also said something with his pixel shader if im not mistaken

What do you mean he messed around with the cache?
And the pixel shader umm clueless. My only suggestion on that is if you can get to the options sure the shader option in video I think and turn it down.

yea when i was going through my folders i accidently deleted the steam folder when i ment to delete something else then when i tried re installing it it still didnt work. I mean the tf2 screen is fine but when i go into games the Hl2.Exe thing just pops up and i have to close tf2

yea okay when i go to Tf2 now when it just finishes loading it closes out tf2 and this Engine Error thing pops up and it says Your graphic hardware must support at least pixel shader version 1.1 to run this game!

Ok what is your graphic card put all the details.
Now another solution which you may hate is to re-install steam itself and see if it auto fixes the problem. This means you will have to install your game all over again but it may fix the problem. Before you do that though tell me your graphic card because that may be the problem as well.

It should be standard when people post for tech help(in most cases) that they post their dxdiax.
click start, click go(run), write dxdiag, then hit enter, save the information, and it is on your desktop,open it, now copy the toppart(keep left mouse button down and select the text you wanna copy, then rightclick and choose copy, and paste in your post(rightclick and select paste) it so the peps that wanna help ya out can see if you at least meet the minimumrequirements and if you have the latest drivers etc etc

So....you still havent listed what vidcard you have and what driver for it...so next time copypaste a little bit more ...ore maybe the reinstallation of steam and games helped?If your vidcard driver is up to date try removing it, and reinstall

and here you can check your drivers and see if you need to update, and weather you have the onboard ore another should not be a prob, but then again post your vidcard and the driver for it.

Your driver is out of date, it is from 23/5-08, and new ones came out in september, simply follow the instructions on the webadress, choose which driver ya wanna download, and voila....maybe it works, here is the direct link:

If that still does nor help reinstall steam and all games, you do that by clicking start, then controlpanel, then add/remove programs,select what ya wanna delete/remove and download steam and games again.
if none off this works, idk what to do other than reformat/reinstall all.
k, just did some research as i see it on different websites youronboard vidcard does not have the pixelshader needed, the Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family simply does not have it, go buy a vidcard, in dxdiag you can see what motherboard you have, then do some googling with the name of your motherboard +vidcard.

no when i first got the game in 2008 it was working fine then i went to this how to increase signifacance or something like that on tf2 on youtube and it said to type in dx level -70 or something like that then the hl2.exe crash happened so i tried to find something for that on youtube and this other video said to put something in on the game launch options then the pixel shader thing started happening

Remember people lie a lot on youtube never trust most of the videos.

To get into Safe mode, you can reboot and use the F8 key right before Windows starts up.
Edit:as a basic rule never ever trust what you see and hear regarding tweaking your pc, unless you have got it comfirmed by others, and different websites.
