Does eGo compete?

I have been looking around the forums for anything league related or anything of the such... competition. I used to participate in cevo/cal leagues with my old TF2 team... it's pretty fun, I enjoyed it. So I figured i'd ask if there was one here. The events look like so much fun, but unfortunately I haven't been able to attend one yet

In a word... no.

This comes up probably once a month, but as of right now, the council does not want us involved in anything of the sort. (Of course, this could be changed any time the council sees fit... I just wouldn't expect it anytime soon).

I mean like an actual league... a match every week.. scheduled matches... etc http://www.caleague.com and http://www.cevo.com/ scrimming is certainly fun and I really want to goto an event, but a scrim team would get stomped by a match team of 6 or 8 playing with coordination. Anyways, you guys answered my question... just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me completely missing it ^^

About the events that go down around here, since i havent been to one yet, are there sign ups or is it first come first server or authority rules. And if that is the case, do people show up early to take a spot. e vs ego scrim coming up for example...do people sign up or just show up?

I don't think it's needed, if we play against other clans it's more about winning I think, now with the scrims it's more about fun, and that what eGO is all about, imo.

I don't think competition between other clans would be good.

If you compete against another clan, you would eventually have to choose a team of people to compete. Obviously, this would need to be our best players. This draws a line between those who are on the competition team and those who are not. The great thing about EGO is there is no difference among members. Except for a few administrative responsibilities, everyone from e to ego enjoy the same gaming. Unity is on our greatest qualities.

But you can't. You're in a league team, and today is going to consist of hour after hour of TF2, playing the same old map with the same old players, getting slowly more bored, and slowly turning a game you bought into a chore, or a job which you paid for.

This keeps happening, and then you start competing properly. At this point you no longer even enjoy the game, you're just competing because so much training has drilled it into your head you're too good for pubbing, and you will only get a challenge from other teams. Something you used to enjoy is now more boring and repetitive than your school, work, or any other commitment.

That's my opinion on leagues and professional gaming in general.

I think ego is too large of a clan to compete competitively. Im sure if some of the really good players or die hards wanted to start a tf2 league team and wear the ego tag or something along those lines, the council might not mind. An ego sponsored league team might also work.

I've never seen it like that, but i think it may be true. however, in such a wide clan there would be so many players lined up no one would be tied to it.

I think the answer before was eGO will not make their own team, but you can go make one separate of eGO if you wanted to. So I suppose you could get willing members from around the games and make a non affiliated competition clan. Might have to wait for someone else higher up to properly answer this.

I've competed in another game in TWL and TGL, and when on ladders it can be very fun, you try to get a few practices in, then test out your skill, but no one is saying were scrimming for life and death. It really doesnt take that much to get good at scrimming, just run over the basics, practice in private, and practice in pubs. At any rate we dont scrim against other teams here but it could be a good idea

I think a good team is just one that consistently plays together... I mean strategy and all is a big part of the competition world. But, it's very difficult to beat a team that has just simply played together for awhile. Knowing how someone plays is a plus... where they like to run... how they play etc. Teamwork is the name of the game. However... scheduled practicing only helps you get better.
