Having Trouble Joining Ego Servers

When I join an ego server, i get to the MOTD and then tf2 crashes and I get this error message:

The instruction at "0x00010107" referenced memory at "0xoad21701". The memory could not be written.

However, when I join a non-ego server, everything is fine. I have tried joing three different ego servers, and two different non-ego servers each time with the same result.

I've tried logging off and on steam and rebooting my PC, but to no avail. Can anyone help me out here?

Ok so it looks like it's a memory issue do you know how much RAM you have?

I'm not at my computer right now but off the top of my head I wanna say I have at least 1G of RAM.

Scott I tried those methods and they didn't work. Still can't get in Ego servers but no trouble with others.

Is this something that just recently started or has it always been like that?

It started last night. It's weird because it was working fine 30-40 minutes prior to that.

I believe eGo had changed their MOTD around then. I have seen in the past many people having issues like this with HTML MOTD's. Because it has to use an actual browser to display, depending on the code used sometimes it can generate error slike in your case. Unfortionately I am not aware of any fixes for this.

I used to get these errors ALL the time when I tried to join servers and play games. To fix it, I got more RAM and a better graphics card, and, boom! Gone! Good luck buddy...

Kendle told me he would try to change the MOTD to see if that would fix your problem... I didn't get to ask you last night, but does it work yet?

If not, we may try to swap your RAM this weekend to my extra set and see if that MIGHT fix it... dang it... I need to blow my favorite spy up!

I just started having this issue today. When I connect to the server it freezes up at the MOTD screen. Then shuts down and I receive that wonderful message.

I only have this issue on server resets, or when switching from another server of the same map to an eGO server. I just quit before resets and restart tf2 before changing servers.

Started happening to me this morning....same error. No changes to system. Played for hours yesterday on Dustbowl (usual spot). Cannot join any EGO servers......all other servers join/play fine.

Has anyone found a fix for this? I tried the things earlier in the thread with limited success. It takes several tries to get on any EGO server. ANY ideas would help.
