I don't think your sentry can see through a friendly dispenser, whether built by you or built by another engie on your team. An engie "friend" did this to my husband once, and it blocked his gun completely. We tested it with a couple of clan members just to make sure, and an enemy scout was able to walk right up to the sentry gun, using the friendly dispenser as a shield.

This is why if you build Sentry(engie)Dispenser with no wall behind the dispenser, a spy can uncloak right behind you and let your own sentry kill you, and then let it waste its ammo on your dispenser. One more reason why a dispenser behind you is not a good idea.

Another mistake is people put sentries right around corners, too close to corners, so that a single demoman need only a few fairly placed stickies to blow up the sentry without taking any damage.

I always put my dispenser one engy body length away from the sentry and sit right in between the two. And also put them right against a wall. this way there is zero chance of getting backstabbed.

Any decent spy will just stand behind your dispenser, uncloak, and watch it kill you while it can't hurt them behind the dispenser. If you are an engi, don't sit in one spot all the time.

Thats why usually I will stand in the entrace to where my gun so spy's can't creep past

Don't know if somone just said it above but if you build a dispenser in front of line of sight of the SG and an enemy comes up the SG will NOT see the enemy, some engy in Dustbowl gave up the tunnel because of that mistake

i know for experiance (mostly mine vs the engi) that dispencers are not see-through. good guide otherwise though.

im kind of thinking of makeing my own on the battle medic dunno how people would react to another guide though

see, I had an engie guide up already, in the tutorial section. However, it was done away with. I don't really know what happened. yours is certainly interesting, and it makes some good points as well.

I was going to write the whole series of class guides, but Someone killed that section, and if they are just posted in this area, they will eventually fall away from the eyes of people who need it.

I love being an Engineer. Just building heavy guns does something to me. Gives me goosebumps er something.

If you are in a turtling position don't forget more guns firing is better. Don't just swing your wrench around and wait for a spy to backstab you. Keep your shotgun out and shoot the enemy at the same time. When your sentry is damaged, quickly fix it, and continue.

Don't forget your shotgun. I'm surgical with my piece.

Is it just me, or does the engy's shotgun seem to be more accurate and deadly than any other classes's? It would make sense, considering its his main weapon. I seem to get a lot more engy shotgun kills than any other class...
