FYI: Those put out a BUNCH of heat. Be sure you have the connectors, amps (on your 12v PSU rails), airflow, and room for it.

Been reading the review lately? Those are good graphic cards, but I know NOTHING about them, I suggest you listen to Gooda, he is smart at these things. I'm gonna laugh at my friend if he buys this and ruins his best gaming Pc! [/sarcasm about the laughing part]

1,200 Watt PSU? Thats the most rediculous overkill I've ever heard of. My friend is running 4 Hard drives, a Q6600, and a GTX 260 on a 475 watt lol.

For the record, I have a 1,200W PSU as well. It's going to be put to good use though 4870x2s take a lot of power.

Great question! I was just about to ask the same thing.

By the way Gooda, for my next build what power supply would you recommend for 2 4870x2s? For that build I want to start off with one and maybe get another down the road. Right now I have that 1000w corsair power supply on my list but do you think that will be enough for 2 of those cards?

I always go overkill, but Corsairs are awesome quality Walle. I doubt you have any trouble whatsoever with that PSU and the 4870x2s.

And Volcom, newegg has an evga 9800 GX2 for $279.99 but I have a feeling your not getting this because you kinda live in Korea?

Then he lied to you, sorry but thats way to low to even run that!
Plus judging by the specs you have given us if he can afford that then surly he has an 800+ psu.

Sorry again he lied to you, and if was barly running it then it would be majorarly underpowered and can cause damage.

He could be running something as low as a 500W, provided enough amps. People put too much weight on Watts that they forget that Amps are what really matters.

So you just automatically say he is a lier? I have under estimated power supplies. My friend (And I've seen his PC so don't call him or I a lier) is running a nice Intel Core 2 Duo, an 8800GTS, 1 HDD, couple of fans, 2GBs of ram all on a 300w power supply no problem.

Thats a safe level, try running 4 HD's and GTX 260 on a Q6600 at 475w, I know from experince you just might be able to get it to boot.

As for your friends yes you can run it, now if you said he runs 4 HD's GTX 260 and a Q6600 on a 300w, sorry but thats not possible.

I'm not debating the system config of your friends, I was refering to the others guys.
I have alittle over 5 years freelance computer experince not certifed. Alot of things I don't know but that I do.

Ps. Did'nt mean to offend anyone and I should have worded my replie more appriately, and Gooda is right 500w with good amps he can run that sytem not at its highest peek but run it.

$270 is pretty cheap. I bought my 8800 GT for $300 when it was still new...look how much power $300 can get you now!
