Half Life 3 or Half Life 2 Episode 3?

Valve are being very secritive about the next installment of the Half Life saga. But what do you think will be next? Half Life 2 Episode 3 or Half Life 3?
Or do you think they will have a new name which has a phrase after the 'Half Life' rather than a number.
As for me, I think it will be episode 3 but we'll just have to wait and see.

episode 3,after that i want half life 3,since half life 2 was a very long game,but the episodes are so short,5-7 hours,so,after the third we need a long one

The Half Life episodes are a trilogy. They were originally meant to be Half Life 3 but Valve decided to split them up as a trilogy. The next game will be Episode 3. About 10 years after that, Half Life 3 .

definitely episode 3... then i think valve will work on half life 3. I read somewhere its valves whole philosophy to build an engine and have it last for a long time by releasing episodic content and continually improving the features of the engine... such the hl2 episodes, and the source upgrades that appear each time a new official source game is released.

I believe it should be Half Life 3, if they make another episode, they'd be dragging it along. I didnt beat HL2 epi 2 so I don't know if they left it open for another episode or not...
