Posting nonsense for the sheer purpose of jacking up your quota?

I totally concur. I mean, I have been guilty of repeating what someone has said previously (maybe I'm doing it now), but I try to stay out of that habit. Thanks for making this. It might help others recognize that they may do this now and then.

Its fine how it is, honestly.
Threads live and die, if this happens too much, they inevitably get locked.

The circle of life moves on...

Yeah.... I don't understand what the big deal is or why it matters lol. Also, by even saying people shouldn't do that to raise their quotas is counter productive because it's just legitimizing the concept that the forums are a post contest. If people are going to post meaningless stuff who cares. It's not that big of a deal, no one cares about the number of posts a person has anyway.

Here's my philosophy on posting: I read the OP, and I reply to it. If it's only been about a page or so of responses, then I'll go through and see if anyone said it first. But I totally understand if people are not willing to read through a 4 or 5 page topic looking for a double answer.

Simple forum logic:

if your post is 'lol' then don't post it. if your post says something to the effect of 'yeah, I don't know, man. you should get someone who knows what they are doing.', then don't post it.

Mostly, the rest is fine. Frankly, I understand your point, menopaws, and every once and a while I get frustrated with it also. However, I find that in this community, it's kinda rare. this could just be my own naivety showing, but I really don't think this is an issue.

I also think that this thread is fuel; it needs to be locked before it turns into a flamewar over irrelevant policy.

Thread locked.
