...and The Russ Martin show lol.

Good 'ol Russ, Trey, J.D., Clo, Dan, Alfie, Gavin and the gang. I listen every day on the way home from work and while I make dinner. :)

I'm currently in Garland and work in Richardson. I've lived in the DFW area all my 34 years. I've lived in Grand Prarie, Arlington, Fort Worth, Carrollton, Addison, Farmer's Branch, Richardson, Sachse, Wylie, Bedford, Euless, Dallas, and Mesquite in that time.

I'm not too wild about the heat in the peak of summer but that's my only major complaint and it's not a big enough deal to ever make me leave.

What I love about Texas:

Texas women (can't believe no one has mentioned that yet).

Texas pride. Texans are unrivaled in this department.

Texas sized everything. Even our suburbs are huge. Garland, Richardson, and Plano are Dallas's largest suburbs each at over 250,000 people. That's larger than many states biggest cities. :)

The fact that I can drive in a straight line for 10 hours at highway speed and never even leave the state. (the Texas/New Mexico state line in El Paso is the halfway point between Dallas and the California state line, I've made that drive many many times.)

The wildlife: coyotes, armadillos, mountain lions, possums, red tail hawks, harris hawks, american kestrels, turkey vultures, cormorants, great blue herons, great barred owls, screech owls, various lizards, a rainbow of different colored dragon flies and the fact that within any given week I will see each of those animals at least once (with the exception maybe of the mountain lions, I only see our neighborhood lion once a month at most).

I've traveled the entire continental U.S.A. and I've yet to find a place I'd rather be than Texas.

I live about 10-20 mins away from Auto in KAUFMAN TEXAS! We just got a friggin DENNY'S MAN!

What I like? Texans love they're racing and I have gasoline and oil as blood. oh, and the Women in short skirts. :)

What I don't like? The heat, considering I can go swimming in 30 degree water and enjoy it to death! and the Mesquitos. They love me. My friends will stand next to me just so them little buggers will leave them alone and bite me. In fact, I think I just got bit. Let me check.....

Yup...:(

Can you see that from Highway 59? if so (and i think you can) i road past it on my bike when i went up to Spring (Houston) in may.. Pretty little area

Corpus Christi here. I love everything about Texas especially Pantera!!!! m/
w00t! I was in corpus sunday getting pictures of my baby girl taken.

Thunderpwny dont feel bad about being a band nerd I am one too, was in marching band the whole time in high school and I know what your talking about =)

Born and raised in North Central Texas... grew up in Grand Prairie (southern Dallas County) and now live in Euless... hate Euless... it is only 17 miles from GP, but it is a world of difference.

My wife was born in Wichita, KS... moved down here when she was like 3... and she is as close to Texan as one can get...

As MOP put it, I am not going to be moving ANYWHERE outside of Texas... I love this state... :D

and yes... just for the record... Russ Martin's show is awesome... but he he is found guilty of the recent charges, I will not be listening any more...

Haha, thanks. :p Yeah the band kept me in shape through high school....tough work but so rewarding. I actually even took off of work this Saturday so I could go watch them in a competition 0_o

My girlfriend lives in GP, I live in Richardson so its like a 45 minute drive to see her but she is amazing =)

Ya same here, I am doing marching band here at Tech and we are going to be at the A&M vs Tech game this weekend. I think when my high school goes to the state competition I will probably take a day off and go see them... What competition did you go to?

So I-Die-Often you ever go to the races in GP? I know I've been there a couple of time, and they're track is awesome.

I also live in Kaufman, Kaufman County, Texas. I already knew of Chris' existence here, so suprise me it does not.

We should totally have get-togethers! I mean, it's not like we're lacking people in Texas.

What I love... let's see...

BlueBell Ice Cream
Women (even some of our meatier chicks are pretty, you ever notice that?)
Guns (why I couldn't live in California or New York)
Women (I mean, seriously)
Pride
Weather (I don't like the cold :( )
Women (never gets old)
Trucks
The fact that we have a city called Gun Barrel (imagine telling a non-Texas "I live in Gun Barrel, TX... so about those tickets...)
Racing
How people put Texas down because they envy it (it's true)
Yellow/Brown grass (I actually don't like green, green grass... strange, ain't it?)
The liberal use of the word 'Ain't'
And, lastly, you guessed it...

WOMEN!

Also, to the person who pointed out our death penalty... I am 100% behind the death penalty. If you come down to Texas and kill somebody, we will **** you up.

What I don't like...

Yankees coming down here and dissing us. :p

Also, whilst I may live in Kaufman, I work in Farmer's Branch (53 mile drive there and 53 mile drive back... Oi.)

In my life, I've lived in Garlad, Mesquite, Kaufman, 7 Points, somewhere in Tennesse, Germany (yes, the country), and Carrollton.

So I-Die-Often you ever go to the races in GP? I know I've been there a couple of time, and they're track is awesome.

Races? As in horses? I loathe the money that GP spent on that, Nokia Live and the new ballpark... but I guess they would just be putting up more stop lights since wasting money seems to be their #1 priority... LoL...

I actually work a mile or so north on Beltline from the track... I just have never been.

Actually I should say "going" to. I'm going to just the basic UIL competition at the Palace this Saturday. Technically not a competition, just ratings but still a lot of fun.

Oh, and yes I'm skipping school the day of state to go watch them :) SOOOO excited for that! Cedar Park totally has a chance of winning this year. I was in the band in 2004 when they placed 2nd with "The Planets". :D

I don't think we even made finals two years ago...but we should have. *mumbles bitter remarks* judges....sigh
