Texans Unite!

Actually I should say "going" to. I'm going to just the basic UIL competition at the Palace this Saturday. Technically not a competition, just ratings but still a lot of fun.

Oh, and yes I'm skipping school the day of state to go watch them :) SOOOO excited for that! Cedar Park totally has a chance of winning this year. I was in the band in 2004 when they placed 2nd with "The Planets". :D

UIL :O, my school has that, have you heard of something called "hornets"?

hornets? umm...I don't think so. But I think most extra-curriculars have UIL performances and competitions.

So what are my Texas Peeps Up to these days?

Anyone in the Houston area receive significant damage? Any help needed cleaning up? PM me Im more than willing to help some Ike victims.

Races? As in horses? I loathe the money that GP spent on that, Nokia Live and the new ballpark... but I guess they would just be putting up more stop lights since wasting money seems to be their #1 priority... LoL...

I actually work a mile or so north on Beltline from the track... I just have never been.

No man I'm talking REAL Racing. Dirt Track Racing! Grand Prairie Speedway!

Wait, just saw your bottom text, does GP even have horse racing? lol.

We have dirt track racing? I actually didn't know that... LoL... never been... but that would be more up my alley... :D

Ok, so besides I-Die-Often & myself, who else lives in the North Central Texas area (Dallas/ Ft Worth Metroplex)? Reason I ask is because I would like to setup a meet sometime soon & this internet cafe place in Arlington would be the best place to have it @!! So either hit me up on this thread or via pm.

I think there was an attempt to set up a meet and greet this monday... Oc tober 13... I couldn't go because it was my anniversary... but I would be down for something... I would suggest something like Fuddruckers for food... no servers to mess with... and prices are decently low.

FUDDRUCKERS! You, my friend, are going on my favorites list, lol. I'd say sure to the meet up thing, I'm near GP alot, what with the racing, and I travel through Dallas alot lol. And I-Die, I'm ganna have to get you to the track someday.

Dude you just got quoted.

and regarding that:
One thing i love about Texas: eGO servers baby!

its so awesome...I get between 5-25 ping even when its full and people from Denmark are playing...freakin' Danes and their beowulf-esque lag...almost as bad as Nords...

Plano...EAST!

Yep, that's where I graduated in '03, lived in Plano for 18 years before moving to McKinney. I was in the top orchestra while there. Attended a private school in Naples, FL for a few years. Ironically, while I lived in all three of those cities, they were all ranked the fastest growing cities (pop. less than 500,000) in America in three different years. I have yet to experience the slow small-town life.

What I like about Texas:

the Big 12 South Division,
7 different climates,
Fry's Electronics,
The U-turns at highway-street intersections (trust me, the other states don't have that)
The HOV lanes
a large sense of family and community between all of us
Six Flags Parks (as well as the fact that Texas was the state that had 6 different nations claiming the territory)
large variety of FOOD --> I'm so hungry I'm gonna name a few:
Steak 'n Shake
Burger King
Olive Garden
Black Eyed Pea
Sicily's (McKinney family owned -- best pizza in the world!!!)
Most sports teams in dallas i enjoy watching (not cowboys)
no state income tax

What i don't like:
mosquitoes
crime rate is high
the Dallas/Ft. Worth area drivers are INSANE.
(for example: a driver holds his cell phone with his shoulder and ear, holds onto the steering wheel with his knees and changes clothes at 75 mph on a 4-lane each way highway)
HUMIDITY -- yes it get that way hear during June-September.

ill be honest neojed, the reason i didnt say ur name as well is cause ur @ texas tech which is in lubbock & thats like 2-2.5 hrs away from the area. now if ur willing to come out on a weekend, then we need 2 find out a time when everyone is available. im sure i can get a sat & sun rite next to each other. its a matter of every1 else's schedule. now if u guys wanna go 2 fuddruckers, then thats ur deal. what id suggest is that we meet @ this place called EZnet Cafe (near UT Arlington). Really cheap rate ($10 if you bring ur own box or $20 if you use their box) & for those really cheap ppl (includin myself) have some pizza delivered. also i have a really nice digital cam so i can get a pic of us either gamin or just a group foto. also im thinkin bout possibly doin somethin round the middle of next month (unless some1 has a conflict w/ that). ne ways hit me up w/ ne ideas.

I am not too keen on traveling with my box... it is not exactly light and the HSF on the CPU is tall and heavy... I would be down for more of a meet and greet than a LAN party.

There's no reason to do a LAN-only party, really. I mean, we already play online with each other, what's the difference in doing it in the same building. :D

I'm all for a meet-and-greet. And Fuddrucker's sounds excellent. Weekends work best for me, though.

ok so do u guys wanna do the fuddruckers on frankford dr or greenville ave??

A little history here

i like how before the Mexican war Texas left Mexico and was like pce out dogs... and then after it they like applied for state hood with the us and we rejected them a couple times then idk what date it was but they let them in

texas is beast :D

was like forget u Mexico lol

***** That was not made to make fun of anyone but it really did happen*****

:D
