Another Monitor question

I have also decided to go for a new monitor to replace my aging 17inch crt

this is purely for gaming unlike my other post

options are

1. 20 " or 22"" .... now assuming bigger is better only snag is current setup a 22" is going to be a bit tight for space but if it best will find a solution lol

2 I am looking at the lg2252 tq appears to be my favoured choice at moment
however possible the Samsung 2032bw if go for 20 inch or the 2232bw for 22 inch lastly possibly the t220 but i am working on a budget as have other concerns at moment so looking for best value for my cash.

if it matters with the choice I am only running a AMD3700+, bfg7600gs 512mb video card(agp), winxp pro.


Am looking to purchase end of this week start of next week...

My suggestion would be going with the Samsung - I have an LG that faded very quickly...their TFTs aren't quite the quality that Samsung uses. (People will tell you their the same...but they're not. Samsung makes lower-quality TFTs to ship to other companies...)

As for size - that's just a preference. 20" is pretty big...I'm not sure it's worth the extra 2 inches, but that's totally up to you.
 
Don't forget one thing; you often get what you pay for, cheap not necessarily means you get a good buy. However on the contrary, paying a lot for a panel doesn’t mean that either. Just for the record, LG, Samsung, Sharp, Philips, Toshiba and Sony, are pretty much the only ones who make LCD panels from the ground up. Other manufacturers (i.e. Dell, Gateway etc.) procure the panels at one or more of the above and make their own design around it.
Good choice of getting a panel with both DVI and VGA, since VGA will be a thing of the past. Both LG and Samsung are Korean manufacturers, and their standard for quality is pretty good. However from the 3 samples you gave, Samsung has the better contrast ratio. All 3 are TFT Active matrix which is also a good choice. It is up to you if you want to spend the extra money for the extra 2’’, but then again, it could be worth it. Personally I would go for either one of the Samsungs.

I recently bought a Samsung 2253BW, the older squarer model from the looks of it.

I did plenty of research before buying this and the only one that sounded almost as good was the LG. I have not had a problem with this monitor yet (after 5ish months). I also use a similar video card to the one you have (7600GT).

As for size, I figured if I'm going to be "wasting" most of my time staring at something, might as well be nice and big!

I'd go with either of the Samsung monitors. They have DVI connectors, while it looks like the LG doesn't. For me, there'd be no point in buying a monitor that used an analog connection.
