well after all the hype i was super excited and couldnt wait for the game to come out. then i head over to IGN and look at their ingame videos, and the game didnt look lke it was hyped up to be. For one, there were just some zombies... not the hundereds of zombies crawling out of everyone place imaginable like i was told. And they all were pretty much stupid idiot zombies. Most of them i just stood around as they were shot and killed. Anyone got any other opinions on this? Can you change my mind about this game? I couldnt wait for it to come out, but now im having doubts. The idea is great, but will they deliver? How bout some comments from teh beta testers :D ? Is there a thread that they have made to share their experiences that anyone wants to point me too?
 
There was about 10 eGO members who were invited to valve and got to playtest this game, last week I think. Ask one of them, JohnT said it was one of the most fun games he had ever played.
 
Don't forget, the difficulty is scaling. Gametrailers had a few videos comparing the differences between a newbie team and a good team. The difference in gameplay was a huge difference with the amount of zombies and how smart they acted.
 
L4D looks awesome; sometimes when you look at gameplay videos the quality just doesn't do justice to the actual game.

this is why you don't go to buffets :eek:

Well that kind of game you were expecting does not exist with today's technology and programing. Ever wonder why bodies disappear just after the player is dead or what not. It takes up to much coding,programing, and most of all resources. Even the most powerful Gaming PC will have its limits if you push them. Sure there is not a bunch of zombies like hundreds at a time but when have you really seen that at all? In the movies? rofl no they just make it look like there are many when being attacked unless they frame a wide shot with a field of zombies.

You also have to remember that with zombies they are mindless drones just with the urge to feed even though it is not needed. So of course they will just stand around they have no intelligence.

I will say that the vids look great and look forward to the game. I wish the vids showed a bit more of action but that is the great part. Its not suppose to be all action but suspense. Not knowing what is around the next corner and if your going to live to tell about it.

There numerous threads about the game so please do search about it in our forums. There were a number of people who play tested the game and I have not heard one bad thing about it. If anyone is going to do a zombie shooter game right I think Valve will. The only thing I would want different or maybe a different game would be like Quarantine. The whole game in night vision but limited like how cameras are not like military night vision that lets you see far away. That kind of game with constant action never slowing down would rock.

And you shouldn't. Don't say a game is bad if you have never played it, not that anyone here is doing so, because reviews are 100% Opinionated.
 
I think shake n bake was fishing for responses from the playtesters more than anything else..

I could be wrong tho !!

Im stoked for this game.. saw a billboard for it on the way to work today.. so it must be soon!!
 
Yea I never trust reviews...don't even read them anymore. Like I liked Hellgate london, but no one else did...so meh
 
L4D will be released in...1 month, 5 days, and 6 hours from the writting of this thread :)

The pre-sale is underway! anyone else going to have this pre-downloaded via steam and ready to play as soon as it's available?
 
What I'm worried about is it seems like it doesn't know what kind of game it wants to be a single player or multiplayer it has a story but how would you save your game when your done for the day?
