INS Beta 3 Introduced

It doesn't sound like you'll need to buy it.

In the article Herm posted, valve said, "...Insurgency Beta 3 will be powered by the Orange Box Engine by Valve. As long as your SDK - Base is updated, you will NOT need to buy the Orange Box."

If they're saying you don't need to buy the Orange Box to play Ins, you probably don't need to buy Ins, either; at least, that's what I take from that statement.

Oh I know beta is free, I think I misworded my post. I was asking if when beta is over if the actual game will cost money. If you remember way back when Steam was introduced Counter-Strike 1.6 Beta was free for months and months but than they were done with beta and they started to charge, I was just wondering if this was the same situation. But it doesn't matter, I would pay for this game.

Thank goodness, the Allegiance screen was one of the few parts of the mod that needed major work, and from the screenies it seems like it got a huge overhaul.

Looking further through the screenshots, it looks like their adding a killcam. Are we thinking about turning that off for our server like DoD did? Or leaving it on?

For those who don't know, we got the opportunity to visit with one of the developers working on INS. As any game developer would, they would like to see the game go commercial, and given all the hard work they have put into it, they SHOULD.

Team fortress itself started out as a mod for Quake 1 and look what happened . . . .Valve bought it up and hired the developers, and now we have TF2. The same thing can be said for Counterstrike. We have an excellent opportunity to be a part of a game that could lead to a lot of other games down the road. Even if all we do is host a server or two playing the game.

This is very exciting.

If the developers aren't picked up by Valve, wouldn't they actually have to get a Source license? I'm not sure how much an engine costs to license, but I think it's at least a hurdle to get over before they can go commercial.
