CS:S FPS problems.

Hey!

Whenever I play CS:S, I do have the maximum system requirements, and whenever I play, usually I have 100 FPS and go down to 1 - 8 FPS all for 15-20 seconds, then it comes back up. Usually it doesn't happen in TF2 or DOD:S, nor Half life 2, or deathmatch.


My card is a 8400GS EVGA 512MB. I can't reach my computer right now cause i'm at school.

Whenever you get home, look at your Hard Drive, and post the Brand, Size (in GB), Cache Size (in MB), and interface (as in IDE, SATA, or SCSI). Also, if you have time, please post your dxdiag.

To do so:

XP: Start>Run, type: "dxdiag" (without the quotes).

Vista: Start, and in the search box, type "dxdiag" (without the quotes).


Click 'Save all Info', and paste it in a reply. This will simply tell us the internal workings of you PC, from CPU to Soundcard.

To give you a rough idea, I am thinking the frames/sec. are going down because at that time, the game was reading data from the Hard Drive. It's a very common problem.
