Admin abuse

Hey Guys,
I don't usually wright in the forums but I do read them, but a problem in =(eGO)= has come up and I'd like to share. As you know our server is a punk free no bad language server, well here's the problem. Admins including myself are consumed in telling right from wrong because they have to power. Like if someone almost says ANYTHING, like I said jokingly to someone that hes a retard. Not being mean I just was playing. And I'm not going to name anyone but an admin told me to be respectful. And many other occasions that's happened where people say something and admins tell them NO! =(eGO)= won't be fun if there's all rules and no play. I understand no bad language like the F word and saying Sh** but when people call each other names its usually jokingly and you can tell if there serious, most of the time. If you can't tell ask them if they were playing and they'll tell you if there really mad. (Also with hacking when people are like OMG HES HACKING! don't say "Don't accuse people of Hacking" i always say someones hacking to say there good instead ask if you really think they were hacking).
Now, everyone that plays Cs:s is a kid at heart. Now please just have fun and don't worry SOOO much about the language, someone will handle it.

It seems like your asking on the question of "retard" is a bad word? Well, no, not exactly. Retard itself cannot get you kicked, but being disrespectful can. I hope you did not call someone a retard as en eG, joking or not it does not set a good example.

I also don't see where Admin Abuse comes into play. If you have a question about the rules you should pm your Advisor.

I'm not sure of everyone else's opinions, but I am sure that I'm not "consumed in telling right from wrong because I have power." I also don't think this is a problem in eGO....

Tell me this: If I don't know you and I call you a retard, be it jokingly or not, you could easily take it in the wrong way. On the Internet it's fairly hard to tell if someone is joking, or being seriously.

For instance: "Hey Existence, you retard, why didn't you shoot that guy?"

Although you're joking, it would be impossible to know, and I would surely take offense to that.

As an admin, you should always assume the other person is being serious, except if they are extremely blatantly joking. Also, "someone will handle it." If I'm not seeing things, then you must be an eG, and because you have admin, you must be the "someone" that's handling it.... Don't expect to ignore it or shrug it off, because someone else to won't clean up your mess for you.

Me and InfiniteLoop go at it, we make fun of each other (KILLED ANY SPIES LATELY? No? That's how bad you suck !) because we know each other is joking, and occasionally an admin will think one of us is serious even though its very light stuff and we both just tell em we're joking around and its ok, so I dunno.

It's hard to tell joking from not, but when you're around long enough you know whose friends with who usually.

Joking or not, don't call people retards, or names, or anything disrespectful. We run punk free servers, and the reason why we run punk free servers is to get away from that exact thing your talking about.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to pm your division leaders/advisors. That is what they are there for.
