guys i need help bad. I used to run all my pc online games perfectly fine.....then i got some windows updates. I know im a moron and i have vista and i should have never dled those updates. Anyway, this has happened once before where i have dled updates then it made me lag so i would do a system restore and everything would be fine again. But now i go to do the system restore but the restore point is not far back enough so im stuck with these updates. Please help me, vista sucks and ever since i dled the windows updates i lag in all of my multiplayer games.

To be honest, you probably WANT those updates - usually they are patching security holes that would otherwise leave your computer vulnerable. My first suggestion would be to do some google research and troubleshooting find out what is causing the conflict instead of just uninstalling the updates.
That being said, I haven't messed with Vista updates yet, but in Windows XP you remove them this way:
Open up add/remove programs
Mark the "show updates" box on the top of the window
Your updates should now be listed toward the bottom of the window and you can remove them based on the install date.

did the latest update include your vidcarddriver update, it is always better to dl the vidcarddriver from the manufactor, than from win, cause, they in most cases miss some stuff.have you overclocked?how is your temps?

If the updates cannot be removed it is because it cant. Some updates are permanent until you reformatt you drive. It actually has a notice in the same general area letting you know when installed it cannot be removed by normal means. I suggest scanning your computer for any kind of spyware,registry changes, and also if it has been a while and your taking alot of space up on your drive defrag?
Usually updates will only mess up or slow a computer down when it is not a window genuine. Now I am not saying that your windows is not legit I am just letting you microsoft has been doing that as of late towards cutting down on piracy.

i updated my vidcard driver manually. and i uninstalled all of the updates except one, it wont let me uninstall it. Its called microsoft windws vista office 2007 SP1. If all of them are uninstalled bsides that one.....maybe that one is causing this problem?

Alright, he's a question, because I've been through this with another friends computer, is your version of Windows legit? If its not, chances are you downloaded the "Windows Genuine Advantage Tool" which checks to see if well, your Windows is genuine. If you DID download this, and your version is cracked / illegal, well, you've got like 30 days to pack up and get ready to start over, I think its up to 30 days (could be tomorrow for all you know) and you won't be able to start up your computer, it'll act like theres no OS installed.
yeah its legit. my computer is a dell. (got it b4 i knew not to buy computers from companies like that). My windows vista came installed on the computer from dell already. Im probably gunna get a velocity micro next. Gunna see if i can get it with XP cause i hate vista so much.
P.S. After uninstalling all of the updates failed. I am going to re dl them cause i might as well. Uninstalling them didnt do anything so i might as wel have them.

Ok download a program called speed fan (see link) http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php and tell us your temperatures inside your computer, sometimes problems can appear at the same time. Vista with SP1 is a lot better than vista without it. You may want to make a back up of your data and reinstall Vista, but first just tell us your temperatures.

Ok your CPU is running nice and cool so its not a heat problem. That brings the next idea, viruses, download a program called kaspersky its not free, but it comes with a 30 days free trail this means that you can do the scan without having to pay for it.
Do a speed test www.speedtest.net and see if it sounds right. If not... try contacting your ISP and asking whats up with my internet!
ok so after i uninstalled the updates and that failed, then reinstalled them and that failed. I then reset my internet 100 times. restarted my computer 100 times and ran virus scans and defragged my harddrive. finally i fixed the problem. And guess what it is that i had to do........... REINSTALL STEAM!!! OMG!!!! if only i knew it would be that easy lol. So thanks for the help everybody. I appreciate you guys takign the time to help me out but it turns out all i had to do was re-install steam. Ugh.
