cod4 or farcry?

i really want both games, and cod4 has a great multyplayer, and i dont know anything about farcry 2 yet. but im not sure what one to get :\ because i know the second i decide to buy cod4 for 50 dollars its gona get cheaper

Far Cry was so boring I fell asleep too much to beat the game.. I'm not sure about FC2 though, but it seems that Crytek makes games that look beautiful (Crysis) but have so so gameplay. Crysis was also pretty boring, and I was running most of the settings on high, so it wasn't for a lack of visual effects.

On the other hand, COD4 has an amazing single player campaign.. I don't think anyone who has played it will tell you that they didn't like it, and most people wish there was more. Then the multiplayer is also great, with the different game modes and class sets, you're going to have many many hours of fun. (and it all looks really good too!)
Just to be fair, a downside of COD4 is that it probably won't look as good as FC2, and on multiplayer if you have a slow or ok connection, most of the servers are a little laggy.

CoD4 was good but way too short. Gamespot said this about Far Cry 2...

"Hefty single-player campaign should take at least 30 hours"

uhh crytek didn't make far cry Ubisoft but I would say get Far Cry 2 since I am bias against the newer call of duty games. I don't feel like going into details right now.

Far Cry 2. Your getting Call of Duty 4 for PC? Eh.

I'm not a huge fan of it, too many Xbox360 fanboys who love it, yet know nothing else about their system and how many better games there are.

I've heard great things concerning Far Cry 2. My best friend has it, just got it actually, and speaks highly of it. So my vote is for Far Cry 2

I'd say the original Far Cry was pretty fun, my only real complaints with it were the 4 or 5 sections were you had to drive the crappy vehicles and the perfect aim from 300 yards through 10 trees and 17 bushes enemies.

From what I've heard, the latter problem has been fixed in Far Cry 2 though.

I don't like CoD4 becuase health that regenerates that fast is stupid.

No, Crytek developed (made) the game. All Ubisoft was responsible for was distributing and selling it.

The MP in far cry 2 is a bit boring. Hopefully that gets fixed. I don't understand why you play one match and then disconnected and then have to find another. That is dumb.

I'm playing FC2 right now... And it's really REALLY fun. Basically it seems completely unlike Far Cry 1 in every manner other than there are guns and the name is similar.

The gameplay seems to be a mix of... Er... Actually I'd say it's almost the same as Mercenaries. You fight for factions, gain rep (though at the point I'm at, I'm not sure what rep does exactly), steal weapons and vehicles, and go on missions.

But even still, the fire elements are amazing. When you can get a flamethrower and keep enemies at bay because the fire in the grass is dynamic and spreads... Then you realize how far we've come.

Despite the similarities between it and Mercenaries... I love it. I loved Mercenaries, and I love the African setting. I haven't tried the multiplayer, but I certainly will.

Comparing it to CoD4... Well, CoD4 IS a great game, no argument there. However, I would say single player-wise, if you like GTA or Oblivion or Mercenaries kinda open-ended worlds, then FC2 is better.
