Stuttering in TF2

I installed 2GB of Cosair DDRRAM around two weeks ago, and it's been working great. However, today I hopped on TF2 and for some reason whenever I switched weapons and whatnot my character started to stutter. I tried switching through weapons really fast and the weapon kept stuttering a lot. Also, some other players were stuttering as well. Whenever I shot it took around two seconds for the bullet (such as the demoman's) to show up. My FPS was running around 25 FPS, which it usually does and is playable. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

I also was playing Zombie Panic this weekend and a bunch of white lines came on the screen. I moved down the core and memory speeds of my card in Rivatuner by 3 increments. I haven't tried to see if this fixed the stuttering or not, but I really would like an answer.

You slowed down your vid card? Sounds like you already OCed it. When ever you get lines or artifacts while using your computer and it is not the monitor it is usually a vid card problem. Could be cooling or the card if finally failing.

How long have you had it?

also the newest drivers are not compatible with rivaturner yet as far as I know from 2-3 weeks ago. It warns you that if you still use it may cause problems with the vid card. Double check.

What kind of Corsair ram did you get? Some of the high performance ram works at a certain voltage and you have to set that in your bios. If it is not properly set it could be giving you problems with your computer. Have you tried it without the ram just to narrow it down to the ram or not?

I got 2 x 1GB of Corsair ValueSelect RAM. DDR1 3200. I've had my card for maybe a month and a half, 7900GT.

The guide I used from PCStats to overclock said that if you get white lines and artifacts you pushed the card to far when overclocking. I actually bought an OC version from BFG Tech. Apparently they went too far.

The problem fixed itself last night when playing at the eGO event, I'll check and see if it's happening again today.

If you bought a OC video card it is already OC as much as safely possible by the company and I had a BFG 7950 great card. BFG great company.

I would recommend you just stick to the clocks the factory set it at. Do not OC it more than it already is. that is why you were having problems.
