Map problems in Steam, Help!

Hey guys, currently i use my laptop to use steam, but it isn't really that powerful to run the games i play at full capacity, so i decided to use my Windows XP (Which i haven't used in a long, long time.) to see if i could play with the settings not on Super Low Quality.

Which led me to this problem, theres a problem with downloading on any games i play on steam, i've checked the Steam Community forums but i doesn't say what the solution to the problem is.

Whenever i try to download a new map on any game, it start to download but then suddenly disconnects saying (Roughly, i'm hasty in this forum post)

Cannot find map (Insert map name here> disconnecting.

It's really annoying for me since my laptop crashes sometimes when playing games, Team Fortress 2, CS:S and HL2.

Has anyone had this problem before? since i don't know how to find the solution, and don't really want to break anymore things on Steam on my Main PC.

Does it do it on all servers?

Because if the server has downloading turned off, you wont be able to download the map from the server.

It does it on every server that i go on that has a custom map that i haven't downloaded yet.

It must be something with my download map files but i don't know what

I have had this in Garry's Mod 10 every time. All the map we (every friend i had on gmod) had to download the map from the website, put it in the maps folder. Then it would work. If you can't find answers trying to download maps from www.fpsbanana.com and hopefully it should work.

Yes this is waht i get also on Gmod.

For gmod you go to www.garrysmod.org

for other games google them or go to fpsbanana.com
