Buying a new processor and computer jsut for l4d and because i need a new graphics card (i have a nvidia geforce fx 5500 ugh)

EDIT: Going to get a nvidia geforce 9800 gt

2 GIGS of DDR2 RAM
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+ 2.2Ghz Single Core
Nvidia Geforce FX 5500
Windows Vista Home Premium
80 gig Hard Drive IDE
450 Watt psu
8x DVD Burner

Apparently the 9800GT is not a good use of your money - it is the same as the 8800GT, so unless it costs the EXACT same as an 8800, people are suggesting you stick with the 8800. If you want to go with a 9800 I suggest you get the gtx model.
 
For the price you could also throw in the 3870 or even 4850 from ATi... of course... I am an ATi type of guy after my last two NVidias crapped out... :D
 
Well see thats the thing, i am just trying to find a higher end card for my pc thats not a 8800.

Well Nvidia has never failed me, and i had two ati cards that died within 5 months.

And i am stuck with AMD, but i like amd so i wouldn't want to switch anyways.
 
i used to run amd all the way, then i switched to intel and would never dream of switching back. I love my intel :)
