DoD:S wont start up

After playing DoD and exiting out of it, it wont start again unless i restart my computer. Steam window pops up saying theres already a steam program running. So basically i have to restart my computer everytime i exit out of DoD if i want to play it again.

How long do you wait to start it back up again? The process is probably still running, you can check by Ctrl-Alt-Tab > Processes, hl2.exe is the name for all source games if I recall correctly, someone correct me if I'm wrong, haven't played anything other than TF2 lately.

Almost forgot, if it's doing it repeatedly I don't know why, but I'll give the googles a shot for ya.

Vouch this advice.

If this fails, a reinstall is usually a gaurenteed fix.
