Hey everyone,

I was thinking a cool idea we could do it post a thread for each map and put in strategies for winning i.e. sentry placement, general tactics, advanced strategies, which class works best and class tips for each map.

We could create one for each map in our servers and let it run for a week then create a new one.

Let's have an up or down vote on this.

Im haveing mixed feelings here because strategys take an element out of the game, mainly, improvisation, although, some strategys can be good for a game, although i cant help thinking main strategys will be "get a medic and charge in"

im pretty neutral but im leaning towards "Yes" because some people might need tips on maps (hint blackmesa hint)

The thing about a lot of TF2 maps is that they are balanced in such a way where it is based entirely on how the team interacts. Each person is dynamic and it is very rare that I've seen a team go in with a set game plan and succeed with it. You've got to constantly adapt to the enemy and your plans can go up in smoke with just one uber.

Excellent point by both of you. I was just thinking here at my desk of something that would be fun and this came to mind. So I decided to throw it out there!

I was thinking something like "Well placing a sentry in this location is great because it covers the area here" or vice versa.

I know TF2 is based on dynamic teamwork relationships but don't we all have similar strategies we employ in say, dustbowl, everytime? Such as sentry placement and uber timing? I was thinking maybe we could have an organized place to lay out these tips so newer players could get an idea of what to do and even old timers could maybe find a new trick.

Great feedback.

I personally think if you have a strategy on how to do well on a map, why tell anyone about it? Let people learn how to play on their own and experiment with mistakes. That is all about learning and having fun while playing a game. If we all went and told people our strategies, you are only making it easier for someone to kill you. Just my opinion.
