musc1e b34ch | Ryken here. Obviously just a pub, but me and the handful of friends that all play under the fake clan name muscle beach really miss the PL rotation as well. It seemed to be full almost all of the time, the competition was really high, and it had a really nice following among ego members and non-members alike. The server almost had its own mini-community. I know the leadership had a reason to go 24/7, but I would urge it to go back to PL rotation.

Cashworks

30-40 minutes per map
 
I was on Valve Maps today and the day before and both times players complained about the lack of sudden death, specifically on fastlane and hydro. One player even went so far as to change his name to "SUDDEN DEATH PLEASE".

So I ask the people who have the authority to put sudden death to please do so. Players don't enjoy stalemate after stalemate, it just ruins the match.
 
That server list is actually pretty great, and yeah, I was one of the people that missed the Turbine server but I have found myself playing Turbine in the Valve Maps, the second server I visit the most after BlackMesa. xD

But, out of curiosity, why two 2fort servers? :O

Please don't quote old lists and get some of us excited.

I wish EGO would come out and just say they don't like it when there isn't a full server 24/7. The list you just quoted still says "Payload Rotation". But it was changed to a 4 hour per cycle 24/7 Goldrush map.

Most of the high comp level players have left, the server has gone down the drains as far as I'm concerned whether it was full or not. Now without a map change the teams get stacked and people spend half the time trying to join their friends team to further stack the list. I went to check it out and red was up 20-2. BORING.

The payload rotation server was the perfect format for a server. It's unfortunate that no one wants to play at 6am on a Monday Morning but that's just life. The old PL rotation server ONLY died out because of DB-Heights which is a terrible map, when you took that one out the server was full 100% every night during prime hours.

I'm not part of Ego, and even if I was my say wouldn't mean anything anyways, but sadly the closure of your payload rotation has actually made me play TF2 less. And I didn't think that was possible. Ryken was right in saying that there was a good little mini-community going on with that server and we've all but moved on at this point.

PLEASE stop quoting server ips and stats from the first page! Since this thread was limited to server discussion I brought this thread out from the depths to talk about how bad the removal of the PL rotation server was. Because there was no other respectable thread to talk about this change.

But all I see here are people quoting messages from gardengrove and other EGO players from OCTOBER of last year. This server list was changed. The once old Goldrush server was changed to Payload Rotation. Which apparently didn't meet the standards of fullness that other EGO servers do and was then changed back to Goldrush Only.


Someone quoting GardenGrove in this thread is just looking for extra -ego- points in their postcount or something because 'gardengrove' hasn't posted since December 7th in this thread. How can you complement some guy 2 months after the fact, especially since there has been a major unannounced and unnoticed change. If the guy (or any ego admin) was paying attention to this thread they might actually give legit reasons as to why they closed the Rotation server down! Instead we have random =e= people looking to up their post count by giving props to something that happened in October and then followed up with 2 months ago in December.
 
i agree i want payload rotation back along with many others but i must say i hate valve maps with all my might
 
Well, I'm not going to touch the Gold Rush server until it gets changed back. It won't be just me either. Between me and Saidin, we can get most of the regulars to stop playing there. Thankfully, there are other pl rotation servers that I've found. It's a shame that it has to come to this, because the level of skill on this particular ego server is what really kept me there.

I still don't understand why it was changed to 24/7 grush. To keep it filled up more? Well, I can look at it now and see that it is empty just like every other server at this point in time, except 2fort and dustbowl. But, during peak times, the rotation was filled just as much as the 24/7 grush. It would actually keep people playing longer since the map switch would mix up the teams so that teams wouldn't be stacked for too terribly long.
 
I'm not sure how Cashworks has been working for you guys, but I would really, really like it if Cashworks would change to add cp_Observatory or Aerospace or something.
 
Since I've said that, I've not touched it. However, I decided not to make anyone else do it. And, Saidin failed at staying away from there. I will hold my ground though.

BRING BACK PL_ROTATION!
 
I'm not sure why, but I just reformatted my computer and now I can't seem to get Blackmesa to download. It says the map is not available. I tried and got steam to download Cashworks and it worked just fine. I'm not sure if it's me but hopefully it gets fixed so I can get my Blackmesa fix soon :p
 
Now that the new update has come out, will there be a server that includes the new cp_egypt in it? I thought I was going to be disappointed in the map but after a couple of rounds it started to grow on me.

It's currently in the rotation on our new Valve Maps rotation server:
