So yesterday Garden helped me build a computer. It's pretty awesome. Check it out and give me any ideas or feedback.

The only thing I would do with that set up is get a 750/800w power supply. You might be cutting it to close with 500w. Just my 2.2 cents. :) Lookin good though man.
 
I agree with B Man.
Also i would go with Intel, and that's probably just because I'm an Intel guy.
But overall it looks like a sweet build.
 
Nah, that PSU has more than enough amps on the +12v rail for that 9800GT.

SLI though...that'd require a more beefy PSU.

You DO know that the 9800 GT is more powerful though right? :P

Your specs look pretty good. My build would be exactly that if I were building my PC with an AMD processor. :)
 
Looking good, a more powerful PSU would be advisable.

Under detailed specs, you'll see the 9600GT wipes the floor of the 9800GT. The only area its slow in is stream processors but for 40 dollars, but for me to double that and loose preformance on other things, i'ld go for the 9600GT. Espec when I can run two in SLI.
 
ok, your list looks REALLY good

If you are not planning on going SLI, i would look for a different motherboard (Intel x48 chipset) and go with a 4870

If you get me your email address, i can send you a list i have made already that is only about $850 and it is (personally) better than what you have up there

Stream processors is where it makes the difference ;) Even though you may have more raw processing power, if all that data can't get through, then it's just going to sit there, bottlenecking the rest of the system.

FYI, the 4870x2 (current GFX leader) has 1,600 stream processors.

Could you just post the list here so that I could get a public opinion on it as well? I'm not much of an expert at this :P
 
If you're not going to be running Crossfire, I'd recommend the P45 chipset. An ASUS P45 really. Extremely easy overclocking (if you ever choose to do that), and they run really fast/cool.

I've got that AMD CPU, I doesn't perform as I wanted it to. My friend has an intel wich runs 3GHz and it performs way better.... and it's way more overclock-able
 
the only thing im going to say is, get a better PSU. i would step it up to 600w. it wont cost much more either. maybe even get a 650w with cabel managment.
