Adding the ?

I'm trying to add the ™ to my in-game name.

Getting the ™ symbol in a text editor (and even here) is extremely easy (Alt+0153 gives me ™). When I copy and paste it into DOD:S it pastes everything properly, but always omits the ™. I've tried via XP and Vista as well as on two different computers. My results have been consistent.

I'm baffled as to why DOD:S is omitting ™ from anything that I paste via the options menu. I even tried changing my name via the in-game console (name =(eG)=™ Amfortas) and it just prints it as if I'm simply chatting. I've tried with and without the "". I even tried bind "F2" "name =(eG)=™ Amfortas". It prints out the command every time I press F2.

In the Steam settings area my nickname shows up as =(eG)=™Amfortas. It's not "transferring" that nickname to the game itself. I even tried deleting my name in the game options (under multiplayer) it then shows me as unnamed. It's not "importing" the name from Steam's settings to the game itself.

This is becoming very frustrating and I've exhausted all avenues of research. The part that gets me the most is it's probably something very simple that I'm overlooking. I hate when that happens.

If I do find a solution prior to anyone else, I'll obviously post it here. Even if it was something very simple and makes me look bad.

Sometimes i have to get rid of the tag because It wont show
this especially happens when the characters are like that

I know JohnT had the same problem a few days after we got the trademark, I don't know how he got rid of it though...

I corresponded with JohnT and I've already tried everything that he can think of.

So, my next question is how to handle my in-game name until a solution is found? Do I leave it as =(eG)= Amfortas or go back to Amfortas? I know that you require the ™, but so far DOD:S won't allow me to add it. I'll grab Insurgency and try using =(eG)=™ Amfortas with that game as well as with COD: 4 if there are no objections?

Issue resolved (although I don't really have an explanation).

I installed Insurgency and was able to cut/paste easily. I then decided to uninstall, delete the DOD:S directory, and then reinstall DOD:S. It then "imported" my name from the Steam client with no issues. I'm not sure what caused the problem to begin with, but at this point I'm not going question the end results.
