Why no Omaha?

I was just wondering why you have no Omaha server? I love that map and miss playing it

Yes, hence the term Charlie A.K.A. Strand in the server.

I tried out dod_omaha32 or whatever and it's not bad, but I really don't see what's so amazing about it, to be honest. I know one server in the Top 15 has that 24/7, but I just don't see it.

However, this is something you would have to talk to Council about.

Well mostly because the servers aren't free by any means - Leadership runs what they believe are the most popular maps on the quality servers we have available.

I have to say, dod_omaha32 is not what I would call a good map, when you compare it to other custom made maps. It`s to blocky etc, lack of details too. But that`s my opinion.

If anyone have tried dod_dogsector, that`s the most realistic Omaha map iv`e ever played.

As far as custom maps go, the re-make of Omaha is... quite frankly (and no offense to the mapper) garbage when compared to Strand. If they would put more time into it, it COULD be better, but as it stands... Strand wins, by far.

Omaha32 is basic but its fun and its a dam good sniper map. ive played that map for many many hours and enjoyed most of them, since finding it ive stopped playing the other dod maps. there is something about it.

since ive started playing insurgency though ive pretty much stopped playing dod and when i do play its like being a noob all over again. i guess my dod days are over. i still say its a good map though

Well, I really don't think we can grant everyone's wishes. We're in a 10.000+ member community here, and the Council has to make tough decisions on maps. So unless you can buy us a server, I don't think it's going to happen
