A Fallout 3 question

If you don't own this game, or haven't played through the first... 10 minutes of it, look away...













Is it possible to escape the vault without killing the overseer? A random question yes, but I'm curious, and too lazy to make a new character to find out..

yes it is possible, you can just completely ignore your friend in there, or you can open the door let her run out run really far away and it seems that only the gaurd fallows you, you kill him and the overseerer just runs around and you can go find your friend and she isnt mad at you for killing him, but you may need a little bit of science and lock picking, tho on a side note if you go back to what I think is the doctors office in the vault you can find a bobblehead that gives you like 10 to medicane I think.

there might some more variable stats or things you need, or maybe I just got lucky with the overseerer running away from me, but yes you can find a way to leave him alone

Edit: I assume theres a conversation path that would work too, but pickpocketing seems easier.

oh yea, I guess you might need the stuff that he has, but I just lockpicked and hacked his comp as well

I just walked up to him pick pocketed the stuff you need.... and left... at least she wasn't mad at me when I left tho..

Its very possible. Get his password from Amata, pick pocket, or use speech.

Don't forget, that you only need the science skill to access the right level of pc (you can logout after the third try, and retry again with 4 attempts)

It's possible to save Amata (killing the security chief) but leaving the overseer alive. You can then talk to him and I believe threaten or persuade him to give you the access you need.

I just talked to Amata and she told me where he keeps his things and what his password is. When she rushes to your room you can get all the info. Then I just snuck passed them all and used his door. Amata ran up to me as soon as I opened the vault and we said our final goodbyes.

But this game will be different for everyone. My roommate is playing this game as well and we rarely know what eachother is talking about story wise because our games are so different.

Have you tried puttin your weapon away after you kill the Guard? (Hold R to put your weapon away. Unless your playing on XBox or PS3.)

I think I'll try to get out without killing him next game. I'll do some other things differently then too. Man, they've done a great job with the story. i do miss the dark humor (so far it's just mostly dark) but still enjoying it. Got me a nice sniper rifle now and Crit sneak attack headshots are just awesome =)

you open the door kill the gaurds follow the girl theres lockers around her somewhere and there is a key. Open the overseers door go to the lockers on the right side and you will find the code. Put it in the computer and your out of the vault. No ones dead but the gaurds.

P.s. No one cares about the gaurds.
