Laptop Keyboard Missing Key Strokes

My girlfriends laptop is having a weird issue with the keyboard. Basically, every few keystrokes, the computer just does not seem to register the key presses. It happens on random keys and is quite annoying trying to type anything.

I had to edit that above to get it to come out right... I will type it below once, quickly through to give you an idea of what is happening.

I dont think it is dirty, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

We had a similar problem at my job. Its a lag thing in the keyboard usually. But neither me nor the tech could figured it out. So we just ended up replacing the keyboard. Would love to hear anyone elses solution to this problem. I think what causes the lag is the cables just going bad over time.

Yea, I dont know enough about laptop maintenance to even attempt to crack it open and search for potentially loose wiring or anything of the sort... not to mention trying to replace a laptop keyboard.

Need additional information:

1. What kind of laptop is it?
2. Is the keyboard misbehaving when you try to navigate the laptop BIOS?
3. Can you duplicate the problem in windows safe mode?
4. Have you tried attaching an external keyboard to see if you can duplicate the problem?

Also,
Try blowing some air on to it like a compressed tank of gas...Cuz the keys might be clogged.
