How crappy is my computer/internet honestly?

So here are my comp specs:
AMD Turion X2 Ultr Dual-Core Mobile ZM-80
2.00 GB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450
(This is a laptop, btw)

And my internet is a 2.4 Ghz linksys, at 54 mbps

I was talking to pillar, and it turns out my lag is coming mostly from living in minnesota (the servers are in texas)

The laptop is nice, but your internet is not really 54mbps. Go to speedtest.net and run a speedtest close to your location. Also, go to speedguide.net and try the tcp/ip anaylzer and post your settings. We might be able to get some what of a better ping for you.

Well...I can tell you that yours beats my laptop. I use my desktop mostly though.

Phone cords have a RJ-11 termination. I think you meant to say you use a patch cord.

That's a great connection speed! I have supposed DSL, but I get a ping of 500 on that test so you don't have anything to worry about.
