TF2 stopped working...

Hello guys, I need some help here.

After downloading Fallout 3 from Steam (almost one day wait) and installed it, my copy of Team fortress 2 has stopped working. It shows "Game is currently unavailable. Please try again some other time".

I've already verified, defragmented the files, rebooted my pc, disable the antivirus and nothing.

Any comments about this?

Yeah, this has happened to me before. I sent a letter to Steam, and they told me to close steam, rename my "steamapps" folder, restart steam, and reinstall TF2. If it works, take all the other files that aren't TF2 out of the renamed file and move back to "steamapps".

that seems like a really lame fix. how can Fallout 3 effect your steam games?

oh yeah me too! lol i just think its lame that a non-valve game would break your tf2. that sucks!

I'm not 100% certain Fallout 3 did it. When it happened to me, it just happened. Didn't install anything new. It just decided to not work.

Hmm...That's strange...That happened to me on my old computer, and I never fixed it. I got a new computer, put Steam on and logged in and it worked. I've heard that method before. It's definitely not Steam's fault. Good luck fixing it!

Well, as Rellikpd, I blame Fallout, because I downloaded other games from steam and there were no trouble at all. I did the backup part, when I return to home from work I'll reinstall TF2 and let's hope everything works. I'll let you know.
